• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Front tire mounted backwards.

Ok. So, I'm new to the whole spyder thing. I bought a used 2011 spyder a few months ago. 11,000 miles.... Lots of whistles and bells. It runs great. While showing it to a friend he noticed that the front tires are directional, and that one of them is mounted backwards!! The front tires have a lot of life/tread left on them. My question is.... Is there any reason why I couldn't just have the tire remounted so that it turning the proper direction? I have been advised that the tire is built to rotate in one direction, and by being mounted backwards the integrity of the belts has been compromised. Any validity to this? Thanks in advance.

Just remount it

From Goodyear.com FAQs:

My directional tires were mounted incorrectly and are rotating in the wrong direction. What should I do? [Top]

Tires with a "directional" tread design are intended to roll and perform in a given direction. The sidewall will have arrows indicating the rolling direction of the tire. If installed in the wrong direction the tire will not perform its intended function. However, no damage or premature wear to the tire will result. The tire should be dismounted and remounted to roll in the proper direction.

Agree...

:agree: and you may not have gone that far anyway. I have reversed many a incorrectly mounted rotational tire without any adverse effects....

Remount the tire in the correct direction. The tire itself is fine. But you need the water shedding properties of that tire which have been nullified by the incorrect mounting. You basically have a ski on that side if you get into a wet situation.
