• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

power oulet

I haven't purchased anything from these guys yet, but they have a lot of information regarding powerlets, fuse panels, wire harnesses, adaptors ect. They have a new Power Center 8 (PC8) fuse box which looks like a nice unit. It has both switched and unswitched circuits. I currently have a Centech AP-2 fuse box which is simillar, but I may change to the PC8 because I think it is a better design in my IMO. Regardless, with either fuse box you can add accessories switched or unswitched depending on your needs. This is a good way to go to add power outlets and other accessories. You can add the fuse panel using the correct harness direct from the battery and to a switched source. I used the rear tail light wire for my 12V switched source going to the relay on the harness for the fuse panel.
The Eastern Beaver web site has some useful information about wiring and other electrical stuff as well.

I have the PC8 and like it fine. Ordered from Eastern Beaver. Also ordered the bmw outlets by mistake and they promptly exchanged them. I do recommend them. PC8 was an Easy install. I have my switched circuit going to the outlet wire behind the trunk. I can tell you that, depending on where you want to mount the fuse box, be careful on ordering the harness. I ordered a 4 foot one with the idea of mounting behind the trunk for easy access by removing one panel. Didn't reach. Ended up mounting it on the frame bar. I then ran my dash mounted outlets to the pc8.
Works good and goes through their own 3 amp fuses.

IF you have a marine store near you consider using a boat 12V power outlet. Not very expensive and are water resistant. I think West Marine has a internet site. Also consider running a set of wires to the battery with an inline fuse for safety. Not expensive and will do a great job for you.

MM, I've had A/C on my Motorcycles since day one back in the late 50's... aren't you a little behind the time... tee hee:D?
