There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Car tires?

Doesn't the tires can am puts on run super low air pressure? With regular car tires, do you run them super low or air them up as recommended by tire specs?

Spyder weighs 750 to 1100 lbs......front PSI 17 to 23 lbs ........rear 26 to 30 lbs. this is for OEM Kenda's......I do not consider this to be super low tire pressures considering the weight on three tires............If you have car tires on all three wheels I would definitely run on the low side because they are designed for much heavier loads........you don't have to be a Physics genius to see how this correlates .......I run my Michelin rear at 21 lbs cold and Looooooooooooove it at that PSI..................you might feel otherwise .....MIke :bbq:

I have run both on mine.

1st was the Kuhmo Ecsta ATS. I ran it for 11,000 miles and changed it with about 3,000 miles still left on it, but was getting ready for the NTA trip so I changed it.
My impression was a very good handling tire that gripped well in all road conditions with a 14,000 mile tread life.

Next tire up General Altimax RT 43. Current mileage at 17,000
My impression is a great tire for the first 14,000. After that it started to loose traction in the wet, and now any moisture on the road will cause it to loose traction.

Next up will be the Michelin Premier A/S. It will have to be a 205/60R-15 as that is the closest size they have, but it is only 20mm narrower then stock so I do not anticipate any issues.

For us "Lay Persons" that would be 3/4 inch narrower!

Yea I know, hard to believe I am commenting on a tire thread. Just bought a new OEM Kenda with the new compound (34/15 build date} at Ride Now for $179 including the sales tax and mounting for free. If I get as good of mileage as Pam (17,000) I will be happy as a peach orchard boar.

BTW Pam I also got the pretty pink and green stripes on mine also! ha ha ha.

I am running the General Altimax RT 43 tire as a rear tire on my 2014 RTS-SE6 I have 5,036 miles on the tire,( I changed the original Rear tire to the Tire above)

Total mileage on Spyder is 10,320, and I choose the General Altimax RT43 for its Performance Evolutions, ( they are

Wet:
Hydroplaning Resistance 8.6,
Traction 8.7

DRY:
Cornering Stability 8.7,
Dry Traction 9.0
Steering Response 8.6

Comfort:
Ride Quality 8.6
Noise 8.3
Tread Wear 8.7.

The ratings are:
Excellent to Superior and Consumer Reports Rates is very high, and as an excellent tire. ( March/April Issue).

I am very happy with the General Altimax RT 43 tire on my 2014RTS-SE6 spyder, and the size I am running is 215/60R 15. Their is plenty of clearance between the tire and the bottom of the Trunk. The tire does not rub. This will be my 2nd motorcycle season with the General Altimax RT 43 tire.

I am running 26psi.

I can not help you with the Kumho Ecsta Sorry!

Are you guys getting the T rated tire?

Sent from my LG-H811 using Tapatalk

I put "T" rated Kumho Solus TA11 on the front of my Spyder. "T" means they're rated at full load at 118mph. My Spyder is speed governed at 110mph and I doubt I would ever even run at that speed.

Kumho

So I have read they both get good tread life -- - And which Ecsta? there are several different versions -- I would guess you use radials?

what are the pros and cons of each?

I have the AST on the back and the Solus on the fronts. 18# of air front and 26 in back. 28 if two up
