• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Thread Locker

I know that all of the bolts that hold the tupperware on has a yellow thread locker on them. I can't seam to find out what kind of thread locker it is, much less where to get it.

I have read that some thread lockers will eat away at the plastic parts, I have used Loctite Blue on my bikes for years and never had any problems with the plastics. :dontknow:

What are all of you using for thread locker? If this has been answered somewhere, sorry, I don't mean to beat a dead horse.:bdh::bdh::bdh:

I do not use any on the screws that hold the plastic parts on and never had any come loose, but on important parts (like brake and wheels) I use blue.

I use blue as well but was surprised when the blue Locktite I used for my Lidlox helmet locks came loose and I had to remove it, clean the bolt, and reapply Locktite.

If you must use blue, grade 243 is the one since it does better with oils.

The yellow is a preapplied compound, done at fastener manufacturing. It is dry when installed.

To replace the yellow requires a new fastener.

Ditto Locktite Blue and I use it on every bolt including the ones holding the panels - mind you that's just habit as I've owned Brit bikes in the past:-)
