• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Upgrading to a 2015 RT-Limited--have question

We are making the move from a 2012 RTS-SE5 to a 2015 RT-Limited.

I am curious on the Garmin 590lm.

Is it the 5.0 inch version or the older 4.5 inch version?

How do you all like the Garmin? Is it pretty viewable in daylight/sunny conditions?

Thanks for your insight.

I am picking up the new unit in March! ;)

I have the 2015 RTL with the 590LM and it is a 4 1/2" screen, i love it, easy to see in all weather conditions and adjustable, you will be happy with it.

UPDATE :
My 590LM is 5" diagonal or 4.5" Horizontal.

:agree:! Mine is 5.0" diagonal or 4.5" on the horizontal axis. Get a Kradellock,
http://www.kradellock.com/, so you don't have to worry about it getting ripped off when you stop for that emergency head call.

I assume that they've got a model for the Zumo 660 as well?
Their website seems a bit...vague.
If the Kradellock is used to lock the GPS into place; what does the other item, (Kapplock?) do?

Zumo 590 on RT-L

I've had mine for just two weeks. It's terrific. Lots of features and easy to use. I'm particularly fond of the MP3. It needs a separate Micro SD card to store music. Works great.

Yes, Bob, they have a model for the 660 mount. The Kapplock is a lock for folks who mount GPSs on a ball mounts and it prevents someone from removing the ball mount arm from the ball -- see the customer pictures on the web site. Bob Becker responds promptly to emails and his order fulfillment is as fast as many of the top notch SL sponsors.

Thank you!

This is great information and thank you all for your insight and comments and experiences. Definitely will research the Kradlelock more, especially since this Zumo is $800 bucks! Very pricey!

I do have Transition Eye glasses so will be interesting to see how well I can see this when ryding in the daylight.

We are looking forward to March and picking up our new unit over Spring Break and then having it during Spyderfest!

Thank you again for your responses! ;)
