• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Trunk Light

It can be hard to see inside the trunk, especially at night obviously. I installed this at a whopping cost of 5$ off ebay and it lights it up excellent. The strip comes with double with tape on the back so it just sticks on. The power is battery operated and i just used a strip of velcro or command picture hanging tabs to adhere it out of the way on the side. With the Velcro you can take it down and change the batteries nice and easy but the strip is supposed to last for more than 100 hours so i doubt i will need to replace them. Switch is right there on front of box so nice and easy to turn on, you can even control the brightness and color if you want. Here is a link to the strips.

Nice. At first I thought you were putting one in the front trunk and I was going to ask what you didn't like about the stock light. LOL

 :2thumbs:
But I've got to wonder if there's any way to tap into a 12 volt power source back there, and do away with the batteries?

Spyderpops makes one that plugs into the 12 volt outlet.
You can also use it in the funk if you have a 12 volt source.

During the riding season; I've got the 12 volt plug set up as a switched source of power...
(I plug my XM radio into it...)
I was wondering if there's another way to skin this cat? :dontknow:
Is anything else back there powered full time?

Nicely done...

Great find, looks to work perfectly and 100 hr's is a long time so tapping into the electical system is not needed. congrats..!! :2thumbs:

I think JT had a nice set up with a switch that was operated by gravity so the light went on when you opened the trunk and off when you closed it.
I wish I could find the post, I'd like to duplicate the install.

last 100 hours??? that is only 4+ days??? doesn't sound very reliable/permanent to me..
BIG F

Looks great and I love the battery idea. I notice it goes around the edge of the trunk facing outward and was wondering if it shines downward into the trunk well?

Spyderpops RT trunk LED light (Spy193).

In the directions " if the power is not on in your outlet when the key is OFF you will need to change the position of the" ACCESSORY FUSE" in the fuse box.. the Fuse box is located in the front trunk on the right side looking FORWARD and al you have to do is MOVE the 5 amp fuse from the # 6 position to the # 7 position and the power will be on at all times for your use.

When my spyder is out of hibernation I will install and post a picture in the spring. Deanna

Thanks, Dee!
I didn't know that Harvey had one; it's time to do some shopping!!!:yes::yes:
Look at Spyderpops site, Look under " new Products" you find the RT Trunk lights. Good luck!

Happy shopping. Deanna

This could be just what I was looking for

I was looking for a light source for the brp 622 trailer for evening access. I bet these would work pretty nicely. And battery operated is preferred in my case.
