• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Backrest cable replacement

I just spent over an hour tearing the whole backrest/rack system off to find out that the cable got pinched. Now I need a new cable.

I cannot see the proper way to route the cable so it wont get pinched again. I am almost tempted to bring it to the dealer.

Anyone out there got any pics/links to pics or anything that shows the proper cable route?? It cant be THAT hard, but this ol' fart just cant figger it out. See what happens once you start collecting a retirement check?? LOL

TIA.

Brad

I gotta agree that the instructions ain't real clear.
OK I'm not sure if this is correct but it worked for me.
Run the cable down through the hole behind the top battery hook.
Across the front of the back of the battery tray. Then up through the big cable hole in the base of the frame. Be careful not to squash the cable between the battery and the frame when you reinstall the battery.
See attached pics (I hope, I'm new at this :opps:)

I believe the picture on the lousy instruction that came with the backrest routes the cable above the battery cage. That's how I had it and I don't have any problem. I routed it thru the battery cage the first time and found I had trouble putting the battery back and looked at the picture again and did it right the second time.

I tried it over the top first and the cable had a big sort of kink in it. Didn't like it so I put it through instead. I think its OK so long as it stays above the bump bit at the back of the battery tray.
