That was actually a pretty interesting concept. It was designed as a bolt-on unit, that could be mounted to just about any tractor.

I would bet you could pivot it around so that it would be going uphill or downhill without tipping over. It seems to have a pretty wide base.

I would like to see video of the Spyder with the track drive. I have seen what a track drive conversion does for an ATV. There are a bunch of videos on YouTube. Pretty amazing.

Radical ideas often get lost in history because people can't embrace change very well. The Spyder is an exception. I see other manufacturers taking notice of the three wheel market niche.
