• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder Key Holder

Lost one of the key holders for one of my two Spyder keys. Contacted dealer to see if I could get a spare and they didn't have any. They suggested contacting BRP directly. Anybody else do this or have any luck getting the holder? Since the key itself doesn't have a hole to attach a key chain, etc. it increases the chance of me losing the dang thing...of course age may have something to do with it.

Thanks for the quick reply. Is there a cost involved, if so, do you know how much?

Part# 710001102 should do it. You may end up with a set of 2.

Thanks for this. When I bought my Spyder the dealer swore up and down that it only came with one key even when I pointed out that the owner's manual says otherwise. Fact is, they lost the other one and never fessed up AND wouldn't budge on springing for a replacement. I know times are tight, but sheeesh.
Of course, I temporarily lost the only key I had within two days. No key=one huge expensive problem. Found it, then ordered another one for around $36 but it didn't come with the plastic thingie. Thanks again for the info.

Damn that dealer. You should report them to BRP. Those little key holders are easy to lose unless you have it on a key ring. I put my key holder on my MC alarm remote along with the wheel lock key.

I wish the key itself had a hole to add it to a key ring. I was thinking of drilling one but I don't know where the chip is for the key code. Don't want to drill through that

The design of the key holder is to avoid the need for a hole on the key. You don't want a bunch of keys bouncing around on the dash while you ride scratchin paint and all

I only received one key holder with my Spyder. One key was "lost" for a while at the Dealer. I did order and get a another (third) key. A locksmith has to gind to fit, but you need to go a Dealer with a "master key" of some kind to make it work.

I was also told, only three keys "total" can be made or "Miss Nanny" get upset.

What's that mean??

Just like Sea Doos .... they need to delete old keys to make room for new keys in the memory bank. I have one key to access all 4 of my jet skiies. They cross programmed them all.

I want to be able to have the Spyder key and the key to my saddlebag and my rear seat together and not have to "search" for them when I need them.

My gf bought me this- http://www.porsche-design.com/live/P3350_ClassicLine_KeyCaseH4_en.PorscheDesign?ActiveID=56796

It has a locking hook on the outside for a key ring. On the inside there are 4 individual key hooks. And, there is a pocket on the inside for the Spyder key.

When I'm just driving my car, I remove the key ring and leave the key case at home. When I'm riding the Spyder, I pull the key out and put the key case in my pocket; the key hook on the outside also has my house keys.

Of course this costs about 1/2 a 4" riser.
