• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. F3S rear tire replacements- any options

Retired 2012

New member
Don't know if anyone has replaced their rear tire on the F3S yet, but are there any good options? The center of mine is wearing out, but tire pressure is normal.
I only have 10,500 miles on it, got it the end of Jan. I ride safely and don't spin the tire, but it seems to wear out quickly, fronts look good still.
Any input is appreciated, thanks in advance for any assistance.

The OEM Kenda tire is the same on all Spyder models and it typically wears out in the center first, regardless of tire pressure. I would imagine that any of the tires that we put on the other models will work nicely on your F3.

....:agree:...and the General Altimax RT 43 ( in 215/60-15 ) has the best ratings of all the tires that will fit....plus you should get much better mileage from it. It will probably be my next rear tire.....Mike

HalBikerDoc has 20,000 on his F3 so I'm sure he has put on a new tire. Maybe he will see this and chime in or you could send him a PM

Wore mine out shy of 10,000, rubber density is 80 on the Kendra Tire, I replaced mine with Vee Rubber Arachnid 500 rubber density, rides a little stiffer because of harder rubber compound, I have put a couple thousand on them with no problem....

I replaced my OEM tire at 10000 miles with a Kumho Ecsta AST 225/50 15 (exact OEM tire size). I have 10500 happy miles on the Kumho already with little or no wear.. I have averaged 30000 miles per tire on my three previous kumho s . I buy them on eBay for $81 delivered to my doorstep (interestingly enough from discounttiredirect.com but without all the BS about what you are going to use it for)

Thanks, Merry Christmas to you as well.
$81 for tire off ebay, but how much should I expect the dealer to charge to put it on????
Any thoughts??? I'm close to the 2nd required service, do you think it would save me to do them at the same time????
I don't know if they pull off the rear tire to check anything during the service....
Thanks in advance for your assistance,
