• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What Is A Lamonster Cut Corbin Seat?

I cant see a whole lot of difference in the Corbin website other than the Lamonster logo.

The Lamonster seat is scooped out more to give the effect that you are riding IN the saddle viz a viz on top of the saddle. Hope this helps.

Chris

Also I found on the Corbin site that the smuggler does include the backrest pad.
Since my Wife has her own motorcycle, I ride solo. Having the smuggler would only cost me an extra 220.00,
If you consider not having to buy the back seat and 2 backrests and subtracting that total from the 953 they charge for the smuggler.

It seems that Lamonster Garage website should sell Or explain the differences. I did not see any mention of it on his site.

A. There is no affiliation between the Lamonster Garage and Mike Corbin's company. They are good friends though.

B. As you suggested in your original post, the Lamonster "Cut" is just that. It is a Corbin seat that has been cut to the likings of Lamont and has since been labeled "The Lamonster Cut". Additionally, as I explained earlier it allows you to sit in the seat rather than on top of the seat.

Again, I hope this helps.

The LaMonster Cut, has been scalloped-out a bit like the old tractor seats were.
You know; the old metal ones, that you could actually spend a day in, and still feel pretty good once you climbed out?

Corbin Seet and Smuggler Trunk

I can't speak to the Lamonster cut Corbin Seat. I installed the Corbin single seat with "spyder stitching" and the smuggler trunk on my ST-S last winter.

Great combo if you're a solo rider. The smuggler does have a back rest. I find the "normal" Corbin works for me. I would not like top be any lower.

Good luck - great product. Hope you're still riding. My unit is hibernating till Spring.

The "Lamonster Cut" should be dished out so that you set more in the bike. If you place an order make sure to tell them you want it dished out. Freddy is the guy at Corbin that first did mine.

I just got off the phone and ordered it. They need the Color code for my 2014 ST LTD cognac color. I cant find it anywhere. Anyone know the color code? I called BRP and they are sending out the bloodhounds to look for it.

Thanks Lamonster
The standard Lamonster cut takes 4-6 weeks, which they said was dished out like yours. Any special cut would take longer. I think they could make it wider but Im not THAT fat.

We still have riding weather here. Just alot of rain this year. Although it will take 4 to 6 weeks to get my new seat and trunk. The weather here is warmer than normal but in Texas that can change any day. Thanks

PS would love to see a pic of your Spyder with the regular bags on the back. All the pics on the Corbin site show it with their Fleetliner Sattlebags. I would love to get those but they are pricey and ill have to wait.
