• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

SEMA Show Pictures

Today was day 1 of the huge SEMA Convention in Las Vegas and I thought I'd share some of what we saw. The first two pictures are of a pretty cool 3 wheel vehicle called the Vanderhall. I'm not a fan of the Slingshot but this is one 3 wheeled car that I'd like to take for a spin. The price tag starts around $70,000 and it is currently being produced in Provo, UT. The third picture is me sitting in an Elio, cool but not for me. Kenda had a booth and the title "Designed for your journey" made me laugh. I thought a better one would be "Designed for your journey to a tire store for a better tire". I grabbed one of the bags they were giving away, I'll let you know how long it lasts.

You're probably one of the few who will ever sit in an Elio. Thanks for the pictures.

The lady there told us it was going into production next year and I asked her if she meant next year as in a couple of months from now and she said no, next year as in one year from now.

It is really ugly but as a cheap commuter vehicle I guess it would be better than a Smart Car. The Vanderhall on the other hand is very sexy looking. (My pictures don't do it justice) Very James Bondish.

they have been selling that pipe dream for the last couple of years. ain't gonna happen

Will see which one makes good movie appearance will tell the tale. Plz yall have fun guessing what vehicle will show up where list vehicle & the type of movie. Like an elieo may make an appearance on Mr Bean. Where as spyder has been on transformers 2. The vanderhall may look bond worthy but lacks the swagger. :p Interesting find tho I will be looking into thx.

It really looks much better in person. It has plenty of swagger.

Thanks..!!

great photos... the Vanderhall is nice but for a three wheeler quite expensive..:yikes: those Elio samples should be worn out by now they have been traveling around for years now...:roflblack: tires I'm not going into (mine were great) but the bag will last longer that the early 2014 kendas on the RT's...:roflblack:

i see you took pictures of the kenda tire display, did you happen to notice what tires the elo had on it

"Hasn't Elio been coming out "next year" for several years now?

"

I think that they've been playing this tune since about 2008... :banghead:

Here are some pictures from today. First is a scooter that looks like a Goldwing trike. 150cc motor and it weighs 600 pounds. Next are some cool cars and trucks and one of Joey Logano

They make one that is 300 cc but still a bit underpowered. And the thing is so wide that you would really be holding up traffic as no one could get around you.

They probably wouldn't be too bad around a quiet neighborhood...
But you're right: serious traffic would present a problem!

Speaking of Elio: The latest blurb states that their "Prototype" will be unveiled on November 19th. They are going to make their own engines--the GM engine is out. The article also stated that they are in line for a $185 million loan from the government. Production is scheduled for late 2016.

We have heard all this before--but thought I would update those who have an interest. I still say--"show me the beef."

They have been doing the "production next year" statement for several years now.

The latest production target broken was 4th quarter 2015. They said that about 18 months ago.

The Elio folks at the show said they received 110 million this week production will be in Shreveport LA at a former GM Truck plant.

Cuz they are running Continental tires

I HOPE that they're right...
But I still can't hold my breath waiting for them...

If my retirement plans work out as I hope; one of them would be just about perfect for my needs! :D
