• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I put Charlotte into handle bar lock mode the other day. Not sure any longer what I did or how I took her out of lock but anyway when I got done she wouldn't start.Plenty of juice in the battery. All the lights and accessories came on just fine,no dimming when the horn was pushed and no strange noises from the starter. There was nothing as if the wire to the starter had been cut. SO I read and read and read my owner's manual, watched Bob's new video on keys. I was beginning to think I has somehow lost the ability for the key to talk to the DESS. Finally found the procedure for pulling up the codes and there was the P2530 "Ignition Switch state not plausible". What does that mean? I did go out and put her into lock mode following the book exactly. Then did the reverse. I guessed because the book doesn't really say how to take it out. Anyway she started:yes::yes:. So has anyone else had this? Did I hurt the switch? What do you think about this?

BTW I really want to thank the person who developed the code app. I thought all I would be getting is a list of codes and what they mean. There is so much more in this app. Service intervals, mileage tracker dealer list trouble shooter service log etc etc. Thanks for this.

Loose connector

Best guess on my part is the wiring harness connector on the bottom of the ignition switch is loose. Not sure how to inspect it. I have not taken that apart before.

Here is the rest of the info on the code from my 2014 RT shop manual: "Engine stop switch connection or internal switch fault. Check engine shut off switch function and replace if necessary." That is a little different than what the MySpyder app showed, that said check ignition key contacts. I just looked at my shop manual from my 2010 and it shows the same thing as the app. Do you use the shut off switch or just the key? (EDIT: I didn't realize that you had a 12)

Did the code go away after you turned the Spyder off and restarted it? If it still comes up then it is still active if not then it may just be one of those one time glitches.

Most codes will clear (get stored) if you leave it off for about 5 minutes or so. There is a time out on when a code goes from active to inactive and gets stored.
Another way which I don't like a lot is to turn the spyder on and off 3 times quickly.

If the code won't clear chances are you still have a problem.

FYI to get at the key switch wiring it is not fun.

See my Tri-axis handlebar install video which will show you disassembly and getting at the key switch.

I looked at the 2013 wiring diagram. I assume the 2012 is similar. The engine stop switch is only a on/off switch and I do not see how it could be in a not plausible state. Now the ignition switch has 2 on circuits and can be in a not plausible state.

2014 could be different. Since the key and DESS are changed.

It is the ignition switch that was in the non plausible state. I returned it to the locked position and then unlocked and it started but the code is still showing. I haven't checked it today to see if it went into storage.

So if I have this code showing,is it ok to drive it, or do I have to take it to the dealer to be checked?

My guess is it could leave you stranded.
