• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

All of the 1330 RTs have them... There've been a couple of threads in here about what you need to do, in order to fit them to a 998 bike...

The 2012's do not have the right side cover/grill for a reason. This is to maximize the air flow to cool the engine/radiator. If you block that opening you run the chance of overheating. There are folks that have installed aftermarket grills and block-off plates with no ill effects. Do so at your own risk and monitor the temp gauge. Just my personal opinion, if the manufacturer intended that space to be open (by design), then it should probably stay open.

The new Spyder RT 1330 engine is designed and cooled differently, thus the reason you will see a vent cover on the right side now.

The block off plate comes with instructions that suggest removing the plastic plate under the radiator to compensate for closing up the vent hole where many of us have some form of highway peg installed. As soon as I put on my Madstad foot rests, I went straight to my dealer for the block off plate. Didn't like grilling my right shin. I didn't completely remove the plastic plate, but I did use a small hole saw to remove quite a bit of it while I had it off during a repair.
