There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. 2012 RT Tires

Well, I was fitting up a new thingy I'm developing on the RT and noticed the rear tire was getting kinda slick. Oh and I'm going to Ky for the fun this weekend... I hope it lasts.

Anyway after much searching I found the key items I needed to order a tire from Discount Tire. You need to say it is for a 2010 Chevy Cobalt 15" Base LT (TPMS). Once I went that route it was no problem ordering the tire.

I know this has been hashed out already but maybe this will make it easier for the next one to order a tire.

It's always good to post the information about ordering from Discount Tire.:yes:

There are a lot of new people on SL every day. Most of us don't scour the old threads to find out stuff that we usually don't think about.

If all we did was look back in the archives--this place would be pretty slow. :roflblack::roflblack:

:agree: Thanks, JT for putting this information out here again.
It's a shame, that this is how it needs to be done... nojoke

Ordered my Kuhmo two weeks ago from them online. Didn't have to enter any vehicle info, but doesn't hurt to have a vehicle info, such as you posted, handy.

The web site would not let me order without vehicle info, maybe because I paid with PayPal?

Maybe this will come back to bite me later on but I just went down to my local tire store said this is what I need,he said this is what I can get and I said fine. Can you mount it. He said bring me the wheel,I have 4 different types of mounting machines,we'll get it mounted. We balanced it with Dyna Beads and it now has 5000 miles on it and doing good.

Well I finally got the thingy built that attaches to the whatsit but no time to paint it before going to the Ky ride in the morning... I like it.

I ordered 2 Kumho's a couple of weeks ago and this was the first time that I was forced to input vehicle information, I always search by tire size and it had never asked me for vehicle info before. I entered the 10 Chevy Cobalt and the next morning I had a text from Discount Tire saying that my order couldn't be processed until they spoke to me. I called and they pulled up the order the guy asked a few questions and eventually approved my order. He saw that I had ordered more than a few Kumho's in the past so he let it go. I liked it better when folks would let you spend your money on something without asking a bunch of questions.

I ordered a Kumho tire for my 1998 VW Golf aka '14 RTL from Discout Tires. I have just over 7500 on my original Kenda and it is pretty thin.:banghead:

Our litigious society is the reason for all the CYA stuff with many tire companies.

Sidewalls are probably the big concern when talking car vs. motorcycle tire. Since the :ani29: does not lean and put undo stress on the sidewalls--what's the big deal?:yes:

I don't think anyone has tried to sue over car tire failure on a motorcycle yet...but its out there I am sure. :roflblack::roflblack:

I agree it's a mess. Just to ramble on a bit if you think about it as soon as you have more than 2 wheels the vehicle is the same as every other vehicle with 3 or more wheels no matter what label has been attached to the vehicle.

 I was going to rant and rave about the injustices caused, when Legal Departments are allowed to run the companies...

But then, I realized that it might get me sued! :yikes:

I got one of those emails long ago from Discount Tire. Replied by email that if they wanted to sell me a tire, fine, that this was not the first order from me, but could very well be the last.
Actually got an email apologizing, assuring me the tire was on the way. Have since continued to use DT, although I see that they no longer have Pirelli's in stock, which has been my favorite tire for some time now.
