Garmin 660 vs 590

Have 2014 rt limited,it comes with the 660 garmin.Looking to install tri axis bars and was going to buy the gps mount for the bars Part#219400616 but it says for the 590 garmin.Are the BRP mounts and connections the same for both gps's.Hate to get the wrong mount and have it tore apart to find it won't work.

I have 2 ST Ltd's one 2013 with the 660 and the other 2015 with the 590. the factory oem mounts and are identical.

no the 590 and 660 are different in fact the 590 harness mount is larger and you will need to pull the 660 harness to hookup the 590 harness..

Now I am talking about the power harness/cradle. ..

I want to put on the tri axis handlebars and keep the 660,there must be a mount for that for 2014 models.Its bad enough you have to get another mount let alone to buy the 590 to go with it.I might call the parts guy at the dealer and let him research it.

Just off the telephone with the dealer,there is a different part# for the 660 mount for the tri axis bars,in fact it is priced 100.00 less then the one for the 590.List on it is 169.00.So you have to go by the year of your RT and gps model to get the right part.

If I remember correctly I was able to us the tri axis handle mount for both the 660 and 590. But the Harness cradle was not the same. 590 model was for the 2015 model year bikes.

I didn't like the 590 and returned it and kept the 660 but use my 665 in the 660 cradle mount..

Stock handle bar mount will not work on Tri Axis bars

Sorry for the mis info. I assumed since both the 660 and 590 units fit on either mount.

The Tri-Axis mount for the 660 has the part # 219400408. :thumbup:

For the 590: it's part #219400616...

My dealer told me yesterday that they are different and definitely not compatible

Found the correct mount part#219400408 on ebay and amazon,bought the one on ebay for 149.95 with free shipping.
