Questions RE 2015 RTS

Thinking of upgrading from a 2012 RTS SE5 To 2015 RTS SE6.

1/ I'm confused with the model line up for 2015.
Are there RT, RTS, RTSS & RTS Ltd ?
If so what are the differences ?

2/ Has there been many issues with the 2015 RTS SE6 ?
If so what types ?

3/ How many miles per tank are people getting with average driving ? I know BRP are saying about 251 miles (405KM) per tank

4/ Anything I should know about while looking to purchase a 2015 SE6 model ?

I've got a 2015 RT-S, SE6.

I've had no issues with it.

251 miles is a theoretical number. I don't believe that it's possible to get, unless you have a ~100 mile 5% downgrade nearby

I start looking for gas around 170 miles. 200 and I start getting a little nervous. The most that I've ever put in the tank is 6 gallons, and it was complaining about low fuel for quite a while before then.

I must admit, my riding style is not one that conserves fuel, and I don't use eco mode.

I'm really happy with mine, and have no regrets.

I also have a 2015 RT S with a little over 1000 miles so far. Many people here have reported getting 39 to 41 mpg, but the best I have gotten so far is about 34 mpg. However most of my miles have been commuting to and from work which could explain the lower number. I hope when I finally get the :spyder2: out on the open road, it will do better.

For the differences between the different models, go to the Can Am website and look at the detailed spec section for each model. At the very end of each spec section it lists the differences with the next lower model. This makes it very easy to compare them.

I have a 2014 RT-S.
I avg @ 33 city (Las Vegas)
Trip last weekend 245 miles one way avg @40 mpg.

I traded my 2012 RTL in on a 2015 RTSS and absolutely love it, no regrets what's so ever. On the first trip with my wife (two up) I got 37 mile with the average speed probably 50 mph

The only issues that seem to have been popping up on the 1330-equipped bikes seem to be DESS problems, and some ignition switches. There were also some oil leaks reported...

But ALL of these problems seem to be landing largely upon the 2014 model year bikes.

Mileage out of a tank: I've been averaging over 199 miles per tankful for all of my 40 re-fueling stops,
and getting a 39.6 mpg average.
The choice of a 2015 RT would be an excellent one! :thumbup:

If you buy a brand new 2015 do not expect whopping gas mileage until the engine has some miles on it, like 2-3,000. My average from tank one is 36.5 and I've gotten as high as 41.4 on a single tank and am comfortable going 210 on a tank before fueling up and have never put more than 5.56 in the 6.9 gal capacity tank. Remember, more fun, lower mileage! YMMV.

I traded a 2014 sts to a 2015 rt ltd.never had a problem out of ether bikes. As for gas mileage I don't care

I traded a 2012 RTS for a 2015 RTS and the difference between the bikes is like night and day. Advantages of the 2015 is of course the bigger 1330 engine, which supplies a lot more torque when passing, the 6 speed transmission is great for touring, plus you get floorboards with the RTS, and least but not last the new intense red pearl paint. I love my 2015 RTS and it has a little over 4000 smiling miles and trouble free.

Hello Fellow Canadian !

I have a 2015 RT SE6 Limited Edition. I installed a few goodies on it to make it mine.
I love it , great upgrade from my 2010RT S SE5
i have had no problems with my 2015 RT and it has just over 9100km on it.
The fuel mileage is great. When the fuel light does come on you have a lot of fuel left to make it to a gas station.

My 2010 RT got around 25 mpg. My 2015 RTS gets better than 38 mpg (Eco) and I usually get fuel at around 200 miles. It's so much nicer to be able to go longer distances and not having to stop more often than with the 2010.

The difference between the 998 twin and the 1330 triple is night and day IMO.

Mechanical issues virtually none except for some with the DESS module. None here. 20,000 miles on my 2014.

Gas mileage: 39 - 41 mpg all the time. I usually fill up at about 205 - 215 miles. The low fuel light comes on about 210 for me, most tanks.
