There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. :agree:, But I have a question:
Assuming that the stock windshield for a 2014 RT is 25" tall; do you have one available that is a couple of inches shorter(23"), but a little bit wider? (Maybe a +2")?
I know that BRP offers a 23" screen; I would just rather not give up the width...

Don,

In those photos, is the windshield all the way up or all the way down, or somewhere in between? Also, how tall is that rider?

The reason for my question is that I'm trying to decide if I should get the tall and wide or the stock height. I'm 5'8" and would like to be able to set the windshield at eye level or just below if possible.

Thanks

Pam

I would get the taller and wider and adjust the windshield height from the button if you like..But that is me..

That's exactly my question. If I install the tall windshield and lower it all the way (yes with the button), would a person of my height be able to look over it? I know you have this windshield Trikermutha, so maybe you can answer it.

Thanks,

Pam

I am 6'-2" and have a 4" wider shield on my 2014 RT. The height is suppose to be stock, but it actually measures 25 1/2" tall. With the shield all the way down, I can just see over the top. When cresting a hill, I am actually looking right into the top of the shield. For corner carving, it actually interferes with my line of sight sometimes, and I let it up so I am looking through it. I cut my stock shield down to 18 1/2" for the summer time (I measured a shorty this weekend and it is 16 1/2") and it works great. I wonder why BRP didn't do the little cutouts on their shorty shield to help reduce the buffeting like on the stock shield?

The first 2 photos is of the 18 1/2" shield, and the last one is of the 25 1/2" shield. With the tall shield, I ride with it all the way down unless I am on the open interstate.

I installed it and can still look over it all the way up if I stretch a bit..Lower it I get a face full of wind..I am around 5'10..Hope that helps?? ;)
so look at pictures 1 and 2 that were posted as he has them down and up..

Those pictures are worthless you can't see a thing. I don't need to see the bike I need to see the windshield. Take some close ups please. What WE want is stock cut outs on the bottom and adjustable in the middle if you are looking to sell them.

Yes, that helps immensely. Thank you

Pam,

Knowing someone's height only helps if you know how long their body is. Why I say that is my wife is the same height as me, but I have a long body compaired to her so I could look over the stock shield at the midpoint it it's adjustment where as my wife could not look over it at its lowest setting. We ended up getting the F4 short and wide shield so my wife can look over it.

I've got the short windshield that came with the Special Series. It's fine on a hot summer day, but when it rains my face gets pelted with raindrops that feel like needles. It's even worse for the passenger. Now that winter is coming and I'm facing those cold Arizona mornings, I don't want that 40 degree air blasting my face.

What I'm looking for is a windshield that protects both me and my passenger from the cold air and occasional rain, but also the option of lowering it on nice days and getting some wind in the face.

Right now it's down to the Tall and wide vented, or the Stock and wide vented. The difference is 3 inches. I wish I could have gone to SpyderQuest and tried out the two different sizes.:banghead:

The middle picture of the original post where he is facing you and the windshield all the way up gives you a good visual of how tall the shield is with his type body frame..

Well good luck on your decision

To me the Special Series windshield looks even shorter than the F4 short one I have, but I could be mistaken.
Go to a dealer and sit on one with a stock shield and see how it fits you. That should tell you if you need the stock hight, or taller.
