There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. i just got a garmin 660lm.
it will be going on a 2015 rts
can i use the included mount with harness to power and have the 660 talk through the radio.
i will not buy the brp the $259.00 mount.
thanks

 This is a pretty good question.
For 2015; BRP switched to the 590 as their GPS on choice...
Getting BRP's mounting bracket and wiring might be the easiest way to make it talk to you through the OEM system.
I don't know if the Garmin parts can accomplish the same level of integration; I sort of doubt it.
Hopefully; I am wrong! :D

you may have to get a BRP harness with the mic adapter for it to work thru the speakers..But then again you may already have that under the seat and just have to hook up the GPS harness.

BRP uses the Garmin wiring harness. There is no differences and are exactly the same. The mounting is up to you and where you want it. There are plenty of aftermarket mounting brackets out there or you can use the BRP one. I have installed 6-7 of them, so feel free to PM me and I will send you my number.

You are correct but to get it to talk thru the stereo speakers you need the other end of the plug from the GPS harness to the stereo.. Unless you know some other way to get it to work thru the stereo system?

the mounting of the 660 i will do with a ram mount attached to somewhere on the dash.
my concern is wiring so the gps comes through the speakers.
one of the plugs on the harness is "headphone/audio out jack (3.5mm).
i'm figuring thats the one that get connected to the radio.

Stevedfive is exactly correct. BRP uses the Garmin mount and just need a bracket for the mount. The audio plugs right in no extra wiring required for 2014 and 15 models. The mini stereo jack is near the right rear of the fuel tank. There is also a power connector in the same location. It is a 2 conductor plug. the Garmin mount has only 2 bare wires. Any well stocked auto parts store should have a connector that will fit.

Interesting since my dealer charged me for a harness and mount from BRP and appears it was not needed. :gaah:

The bike already has the male 3.5 speaker jack and the female power/ground connector. You buy a 2 prong Delphi waterproof male plug and connect it to the power/ground wires of the GPS harness. It is located on the right side behind the gas tank. I can send you some pics of you send me your email or cell.

Don't you need the BRP cable to plug the Garmin harness into the radio system ?

Not on a '14 or '15 RT. BRP added the speaker Jack onto the bikes wiring harness. You just need a two prong plug for the power/ground.

So, this sounds like a simple plug n play.

We put the Harley Garmin on the wife's 2012 rt, and made our own bracket with metric bolts from local hardware store and main difference
was we had to tap into the RT wiring rather than plug into it. Might try Lamonts ram mount have it on my F3 like it alot. very clean install.
Also used a Harley Garmin on our new F3 just got the plug from BRP. Always ways to save a buck. Jim and Vickie
