There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Tinted windshield from F4 Customs

I'm going to be ordering a taller winshield from F4 customs. Right now I have the "shorty" that came with my RT Special Series. For an extra $10 I can get a "tinted" windshield, which I think looks pretty good in the photos on their website.

My main concern is riding at night. Has anyone here had experience with the tinted windshield from F4 Customs, and can you tell me how it is at night?

F4 Customs, feel free to chime in as well.

This is the one I'm looking to get ----> https://www.f4customs.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=88&product_id=294

Thanks,

Pam

I bought a clear one at Spyderfest this year. Looked at the tinted one. Thought about it. When I asked about night riding. The answer I got was, " if you can look over it, ok. If not, go with the clear". For safety and peace of mind, I went with the clear. Tom :spyder:

Yeah, that's one of my concerns. I like the way it looks, but I don't want to be in a position where I have to lower it when I ride at night..... especially in the winter when it can get down into the 40s at night. I wish there was some way I could try it before buying it.

I bought the tinted shorty windshield from F4 at Spyderfest. Driving around town I keep it lowered so I'm looking over it, but last week I had a 400 mile ride that I started before daylight. Due to the 75mph speed limit, I raised the windshield. Much to my surprise, I could see quite will through the tint. This was mostly on a tollway that had street lights, but even in the dark areas, I felt fine with it. If you do a lot of night riding, you might go with the clear, but I'm very happy with the tint. It would be great if you can find someone in your area with an tinted F4 to try out. If I had it to do over again, I'd stay with the tint.

I have a tinted shorty from Cal Sci
I can look over the top but a taller one I would have to lower at night
I wish it only got to the 40's at night here
It is some times 20 below 0 at night and does not reach the 40s during the day
Once below 0 bike stays home.

I have the tinted tall one. The tint doesn't do anything as the sun is never that low. I'd trade for a clear one.

Thanks for all the comments

Based on what everyone is saying, I think I'll go with the clear one.

Thanks everyone!

Pam
