• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Cost of insurance

Been looking to buy a Spyder RT and have been looking at all costs. I was quoted $1000.00 per year today from my agent for Progressive. Can I get some feedback and some opinions on costs and coverage? I current own a 2011 Kawasaki with full coverage and pay $450.00 In live on Long Island, NY.

Thanks

Insurance rates will vary because of location, driver information, etc.

$1000.00 a year seems high. I pay around $550 for full coverage on my 2014 and around $500 for full coverage on my 2011.

State Farm has been my insurer since 1965 and they have all my vehicles and home.

Lots of variables...

State Farm here about $680.00 a year but they carry all my insurance. It will depend on your state, your coverage and we just learned here recently, your credit score...shop around...

Full coverage for my 2015 F3 Allstate 300.00 per year but I have it as a package with home and one car.

Read this discussion. Recent enough to still be pertinent and will save us all repeating ourselves.

Full coverage on my 2009 GS running me $350/year with Allstate. Multi discount since they cover my home and 2 autos. $1000 seems high to me and I'm in MI where insurance is incredibly high.

For full coverage, Progressive quoted me almost $700/year, and Foremost/Farmers $285/year.

Same exact coverage.

Long Island???
What sort of "bargains" are you looking to find in THOSE traffic patterns?
(Depending of course on your exact location...)
As a New York Agent; I can tell you that you need to find an Agent in your area that understands bikes... (Hopefully; they ride too!)
I use the American Family Group of Companies up here, and they've been good for our customers.
We have almost nothing in your post, to use as rating tools for your policy:
date of birth
Driving record
Social Security number
Marital status
Are you a Homeowner?
What is the V.I.N. of the bike?
What coverages do you want to put on it?
