• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

She'll be home soon!

After the 6 day road trip from Pitbull to Montebello, tomorrow the F3-S is going on a 8 day cruise from Long Beach to Kauai via Honolulu Freight Service. The long wait is almost over...

Looks like I'll need to change my Avatar soon.

Shipping Questions

Could you share some of your shipping details? Did Pit-bull crate it for you? Cost? Did they require the fluids drained? I'm preparing to ship my RT to Honolulu from Portland Oregon. Any advice would be appreciated.

Certainly, but first you have to realize, there are no Spyder dealers or certified repair shops, for that matter, in the State of Hawaii. I was a Nissan Tech for 15 years so I'm not too worried about being self supporting of my F3. I kind of like it that way anyway as the only shop I currently trust is Lamonster Garage.

Len at Pitbull has been very accommodating throughout the whole process, from the trade in of my RT to the re-crating of the F3-S (at no additional cost) and loading it onto the transport I hired to get it to the Honolulu Freight Service depot in Montebello. No fluids needed to be drained but the gas tank must be no more than 1/4 full in order to ship to Hawaii.

My contact at Honolulu Freight was
Marnie Smith-Okumura Ph: 808-531-0258 ext. 224 and was a joy to deal with. she made everything so very easy and it's being delivered right to my doorstep.

You can also try Hawaii Car Transport, www.hawiicartransport.com 808-445-6695, who's cost to ship was similar to Honolulu Freight.

Hope that helps and if you need more information, just let me know. Good Luck! I'm looking forward to the all season driving weather Hawaii affords us ryders.

Thanks for the info

Yes I am aware of the total lack of Dealers or service. We will have to deal with whatever comes our way. We have been blessed with a trouble free machine so far (should be done with the recalls), I've been lurking and learning here for about three years and feel SL is a huge resource should I need help. Its interesting BRP does not have a presence in Hawaii....with all that water around and the rental potential for Spyders and Watercraft. I was hopping to ship this RT on a Skid, so at the other end my wife (it's mainly her bike) could drive it off.... as I am only there intermittently for now. Some have done that with Pasha, but they are out of San Diego. If we crate like you did I will also have to remove the windshield or custom crate.

We just shipped our car with Hawaii Car Transport, it's on the water now. Thanks for the referral I will contact them as well.
