• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Lucky Escape - Nail in Tyre spotted

I had just got back from a short ride on my 2015 RT SE6 Model to the local supermarket
Don't know what made me look at the front wheels but I noticed a nail sticking out of one of the front tyre's

I have Ride On tyre sealant installed but the nail may not have gone in far enough or the angle was not straight on either way the nail was
removed and the tyre has remained up and unaffected

Don't know what would have happened if the nail had not been spotted as I do use Highways at speeds of 65+ mph

It pays to check the tyre's frequently, A lesson I am now aware of

Managed to take some pictures see below :-

 Nice catch!

Question: Could you hear or feel that nail in the tire; as it hit the pavement with each rotation of the wheel? :dontknow:

Bob

I Don't think so, as I have a Sena SM10 Headset and usually have my Music on also connected to my Phone can hear some background noise
e.g. Emergency Vehicles and the Horn of other drivers if I have forgotten to cancel my indicators after a lane change

Glad you dodged that bullet, although a nail usually causes a slow leak, rather than a blowout. Tires are so much better, today, than they were when I first started driving.

Ouch..!!

glad it was a near miss. Does look scary I do lift mine occasionally and spin the wheels...:2thumbs:

When I started driving we did not know what a flat was
