• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I had a tank cover on my f3 and it was coming off. So I pulled it off but it left a lot of glue behind. So I used sometng to clean it off but it also took the finish off the tank. How do I get a new one?

 If you're asking about a new tank; why not see if a paint shop could lay some new colors on it for you?
It's GOT to be cheaper than a tank! :yikes:

I agree that way you can decide on the design and colours making it different to the stock ones

Question..??

Why was the tank cover glued down..?? What did you use to get the glue off..?? You may just need some compound and some buffing depending on what the answers are...:dontknow:

:yikes: What did you use: an old beer can opener? :dontknow:
If I'm removing adhesive from something important; I'll put some heat on it first, and then use alcohol swabs to wipe it down.

Never heard of anyone gluing a tank bag on. WD40 works well on a lot of sticky glue things.

Reminds me once of what Forest Gump said.

A new tank cover is only $160 from Cheap Cycle Parts. You can't get a lot of paint work done for that. Assuming i am talking about the same part.

I'm sorry if indeed it's ruined.

Yes, that is the piece. Thanks.

When I mean tank cover, I mean one of these. For some reason it was peeling off.

To replace 436 only takes an hour or two
seat, all side panels, 2 covers oil inspection, the little nose cone, the 2 pieces near the 2 covers are difficult they have to be pulled out from the front and unsnapped from near the fuel filler then just for bolts and the panel is off.
bit cryptic but not a difficult removal

Goof Off. .removes adhesive pretty well
GOOF OFF is very strong and would probably remove the finish, I'd try GOO GONE first, or WD40 like Jack said. I have an older YamahaXT225 I bought from a guy who painted it black, it looked awful. I used GOOFOFF to remove the black paint.

If it only screwed up the clear coat, you can get it fixed for a lot cheaper. It is messed up the paint it will be more painful. Best of luck.

Hydrographics is the way to go

You can have anything graphic you want. Just remove the panels.

Water Transfer Printing or Hydrographics (also known as hydro dipping, hydro imaging, fluid imaging, hydrograghic printing) is a 3D decorating process. Graphics such as carbon fibre, woodgrain, camouflage, geometrical patterns are applied to decorate the items.

The Hydrographics process is used worldwide to decorate a variety of items, from aeroplane interiors to very small items like cell phone cases. Films can be applied to all kind of materials including plastic, wood, fibreglass, metal, and ceramics. For the most part, if the item can be dipped in water, the water transfer printing process can be applied.
