• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Steering problems

Ok first off It is not my bike, I ride a Goldwing 2 wheeler.
But my sister in law has a 07 or 08 that she bought new. She had the steering recall done and now the dealer has determined the steering is bad. The part is 1100.00 no labor. This sounds ridiculous to me, not saying it is not right at all , but why should and why would the part be so high.

Sorry to hear of your sister's Spyder issues. Think we would need more info on what the symptoms are and what the dealer is telling you to offer a more informed opinion.

DPS PART

Maybe She should join Spyderlovers and a post about this Herself !!!.....It's hard enough dealing with these issues on the internet .....now you are asking us to help thru you a third party !!!!............That being said , when was the Part RE-PLACED ( last ) there is a warranty on it.....................and if you have to replace , buy one and do it yourself.......you would have to have a BUDS check done ( maybe not ).......................jmho, Mike

Steering..

start by having her call brp. There was a recall and if they did not replace the dps with the newer one this could be the issue. Regardless brp has been helpful in these situations and they should have records of work and parts used...

Yes they are that expensive. Can only be replaced by a new one. I am assuming that the tech is competent and checked the basics before coming up with his/her conclusion.

She is going to try for can am to replace it, It was as posted earlier done under the recall. I took it to the shop for her that time. The dealer is supposed to call can am and see about the second replacement. But her mind is made up. If she has to fork over money for a replacement that went bad when the original was working fine she is selling and buying a class a motor home to tour in. Hate to see her get out of riding , but a nickel here and a dime there adds up. Her husband has quit riding his C90 and has it for sale. I would say she is probably out of the spyder riding for good.

Please wish her nothing but the "Best of Luck", from all of us!
