There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Ultimate seat choice

So, I have my new 2015 RT Limited and can't say enough about how great it is, except for the uncomfortable seat. I have read about the different aftermarket seats and have concluded that the Ultimate Tall Boy Seat may be the way to go. Can't decide on plain black or a custom color... I am a little concerned about the inlays on the sides of the seat and if they will cause rubbing along your inner thigh. Also, is there any discomfort caused by the basic inlays on the seat portion?

Thanks for any help here.

I have mine with Ostrich trimming and don't notice it at all. One word of caution. If you get the gas filler through the seat model, think twice about chrome. If you park with the filler facing the sun, be prepared for a very hot thigh on the inside.

No, the inlays won't rub or cause any discomfort. Love our Ultimate seat. A huge improvement over the stock seat.

The Ultimate seat was a great upgrade for me. With my back, I couldn't sit on the stock seat very long. It's much better with the Ultimate Tall Boy. I have never noticed the seat finish while riding. I think perfectly smooth would be too slippery.

Love our Ultimate seat don't even notice the inlays on your legs even in shorts. Went with the black gas filler Cover that one can get hot as well. Not that it's a problem you just have to be aware of it

Worse thing about the stock seat is the way the back of the driver's seat has a ridge that rubs against your back about 3 or 4" up. LOVE my ultimate seat.

Ultimate is a great seat. I bought a silver seat with black inlays that went great with my 2013 pearl white. I wish I would have ordered in a more basic color because, when I traded for a 2014 cognac, the colors clashed. I MISS MY SEAT, but one of our fellow riders is now enjoying it! You won't notice the inlays and you won't be sorry you purchased an Ultimate. Good luck!

We love our Ultimate seat. The backrest for both rider and passenger are great. don't even my air cushion any more.:yes::yes:

I have the Tall Boy, and as posted above, there are no problems with the seams. Be aware that they don't use plastic under the cover like stock seats, and heavy rain can seep into the foam through the stitching. You must use the provided rain cover in heavy downpours. The comfort factor is heads and shoulders above stock though, and I'm very glad I have it. Mine has the cognac inserts to go with my cognac bike. You can return the seat within two weeks of purchase if its in like new condition, so your exposure is minimal. Check their website for the return period, I'm not certain I remembered correctly.

Thanks for the information from everybody.

I love how you can adjust the backrest while riding.
both gas doors get hot.
also if you do not get the gas door you can get a gas shock sg359011.
Which will lift the seat by it self.

I've been a fan of Ultimate Seats for a long while. I put one on my 2012 RT then moved it over to my 2014 RT the day I bought it. Can't say anything but good stuff about their seats and the comfort I've found. The company has been great to deal with also!

I just gotta jump in. My Ultimate Seat is now the Mid Rider. Long story short, a long 600 mile ride on RT factory seat found me unable to walk because the seat really made me hurt. I immediately ordered the Ultimate Seat. Not understanding how to properly ride the Spyder, I thought the Tall Boy was the way to go. Short 1 1/2 inch difference but it made a difference in how you handled the Spyder. Russel at Ultimate Seats set me straight on how to ride. He said your elbows should be bent because that is how you maneuver the bike. But then, I'm 5'8" so if you're taller, the Tall Boy would be right. Let Russel decide for you. Their exchange policy is most excellent. I swapped the Tall Boy for the Mid Rider. It made a difference in handling. But to the seat itself, I now have about 2,000 miles on long trips under my butt and never even once for even one second has my butt felt anything other than a comfortable spot to sit. I feel guilty that I'm enjoying sitting on the seat. Combined with the Seal Floorboards I installed, I don't feel as if I'm on a 'motorcycle', but feel more like sitting on a comfortable chair at home. Do keep it dry though. Someone else mentioned and it's important. The Ultimate Seat Ride On seat cover costs an extra $10 but it is insurance against the foam getting wet. Fits kinda sloppy but it works. Did I mention I absolutely LOVE my Ultimate Seat. Whatever the cost, it is worth every damned cent. Many times over.

Bought my Ultimate at Bike Week in Daytona and they swapped it on site - absolutely LOVE it and great service to boot! Well worth the investments (even the "fancy" one!).

had an Ultimate Tall Boy on our 13RT. it looked amazing and is a very nice seat, but it was expensive. customer service is great from Ultimate. you can even get matching arm rest if you want and they are very comfy according the wife.

we got the 15RT and I have to say the factory seat with the added BRP backrest and foot pets ain't too darn bad.

Great info.

I'm looking at an Ultimate seat for my 2014 RT-S.

With the BRP stock seat, sitting in the sun and then mounting the bike, the seat can get extremely hot. I had a sheepskin on my 2012 which made the seat feel real cool. I'm thinking of the Ultimate on my 2014 instead of the sheepskin.

Is the heat a problem with the Ultimate?
