There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Bought a new 2014 spyder rt limited yesterday from ted's motorcycle world in alton, IL. And I'm trying to get to the gas cap under the seat and get the frunk open to get the owners manual out, lol anyway in in pushing the key downward and trying to turn the key in the direction it says so to unlock the seat and the frunk. Am I doing something wrong. Is there a button I am missing.. Help.

there was a service bulletin on the key switches on some of the 14's, ask your dealer to check and see if your bike is one of them and was it done. also try turning the handle bard from lock to lock and turn the key when you get to each side.

No button. You should be able to push the key in about a quarter inch and while you're holding it pushed in, turn it to the left to unlock the frunk and to the right to unlock the seat to get to the gas cap. You should hear a click and then you need to lift on the frunk lid and the seat to fully open them. They do not pop all the way open on their own. The key just trips the catch/lock.

Ok, thank ya fellers, I will keep trying, I don't want force anything.. Also they did have them open when I was at the dealer yesterday and it popped right open, so it's probably me, but hope isn't the ignition switch problem now that I'm home, the dealer is 1. 5 hours away. And I am pushing down and trying to turn the handle bars a little., thanks again.

it takes a bit to get use to using the key to unlock the spyder at times..Same goes for locking the steering..Make sure all your trunk doors are closed before trying to lock the steering.

Clockwise

"Right" and "Left" are not the best terms. Push and turn clockwise for the gas/seat and push and turn counterclockwise for the frunk. Try pushing gently down on the seat with your left hand while you push in and turn the key. Turns effortlessly. Then hold the key in the turned position while you release the seat pressure and it will be unlatched. Raise the seat and you are good to go. Very simple and becomes natural. I have found that the tension of the seat latch spring pushing on the latch makes it difficult to turn the key. Pushing down on the seat takes all the pressure off the latch mechanism. I do that for the frunk, too.

Step 1. Push the key down as far as it will go. You will feel spring tension as you push down. Make sure you have the key all the way down.

Step 2. Turn the key: CW to unlock seat, CCW to unlock the Frunk. Opening the frunk, hold key in full CCW position and lift frunk lid with other hand.

For locking the handlebars:

Step 1. Be certain the glove box is closed. Can't lock the Spyder unless it is closed.

Step 2. Turn the bars hard right or left.

Step 3. Turn key 1/4 turn CCW to lock.

Trying to combine steps may result in unsuccessful attempts.

Hey I got it to work, thank you, I just had to man handle it, I was worried if I was pushing and turning to hard,.. But it seems easier now getting them to open, but that again could be that now I know what I'm doing.

Shouldn't require manhandling. Hate to repeat myself but try gently pushing down on the seat while you push and turn the key. The key should turn effortlessly if you do that.

:congrats: Once you actually do it; it seems easy! :D :2thumbs:

Well didn't really mean manhandled, but I just needed to push and turn a little harder than I thought cause I didn't want to break the key, it just seemed a little stiff, and all is good and got er all filled and and ready to ride again.
