• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Are there any known problems, service bulletins with the ignition switches for other than the RT's??

Reason I ask is for the second time my RS failed to recognise it's keys. Now in shop circling O'hare till it can be repaired.
:banghead::banghead::banghead: Rode into work 7/6 and when came out to return home "bad key" scrolled across. Did the key walk, no love. Unhooked the positive battery terminal and touched the negative terminal with it hoping to discharge the capacitors, again no love.

So now I wait. This is the second time this happened, first @ 350 miles, now over 7000 miles; no codes first time.
:yikes:

This is how I understand it. All 2014 models went to the same new key with the rolling transponder chip. So same new DESS to go with it. It only seems to be a RT problem because there are so many of them. :D

Hard to say..!!

but with this being a 2014 whos to say it did not filter to other models. I have seen 2015 having this problem. Check your vin# with dealer or brp and see...

what stuff u got?

Have you installed any accessories near the key switch. If there is a power supply with a switching transformer, you could have lines of flux (magnetics) to interfear with key identification. Good luck.

Thanks, Billy, had not looked at it that way; does make sense that if it's a problem with the RT's wouldn't put different switches in the RS's.

Would hope that they would do this, and if it's a problem that the parts to replace it are available.

Thanks Deerslayer, I do have my wiring for my GPS passing through the area. Would not have considered this.

Thanks to all and hope the dealer has the parts needed to repair soon; going into Spyder withdrawal already
