• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hows is it going everyone?

Spyders have always interested me. I've recently come across a job that needs transportation. Most of the jobs are midwest bound. States like Indiana, Tennesee, Missouri etc.

Ive taken 2 motorcycle saftey classes. Begginer and advanced.
and in my current situation all i can afford is a motorcycle.

I had a few questions.

If anyone is open to answer or inbox or email me (steelela0 @gmail) that would be awesome but ill also post them directly here.

If i do get a spyder do all models and or types available to have a trailer put on them? Or at least that trunk?

Im attempting to buy from someone elderly whose only used it to go to a store and back the one from the lot is also used and near the same price range (10,000)

Are spyders suitable for year round riding?
Ive heard they can have snow tires.. heated seats.. and heated grips.. is this an extra you have to order from a brand new one?

Maintenance of the bike
Is it alot? Hard? Common issues?

Lastly are the payments as much as a car? Or similar to a motorcycle. ?

:welcome: I will answer one and leave some for others.

Winter Driving: Not recommended for driving on ice or snow. You will have a problem stopping and you put yourself at peril with all the big other vehicles out there. Heated grips and heated seats are for keeping warm when it gets colder out--not specific for winter driving conditions.

What about recently plowed roads?

Well..!!

most of your questions are common sense questions and a bit of real browsing here can help you.

Payments depend on who you finance through and how much. Insurance on the other hand is more...
Heated equipment and gear can be bought and added to any of them as well as trailer hitches for pulling trailers...
Would you ride a motorcycle in the winter road conditions..?? Will the weather hold for long..?? Is it worth the risk..?? You can ryde in any weather as long as the road conditions are good and your driving skill are even better...
Maintenance depends on the engine type. It is costly at the dealer level but not hard to work on for regular maintenance...

:welcome:

I will answer an other spyder question, depending where you live spyders can be driven year round( up here in the northeast we can only drive spyders from April to Oct. short motorcycle riding season). Also, I will leave the other questions for other people to answer. Good luck! Deanna

As much as I love Spyders, I would have to say, a used small car would be a better deal for you. Really good deals are hard to find in anything and even more so in Spyders. I ride year around and in weather many others will not, but it is still my choice. Otherwise I will just be quiet.

What about recently plowed roads?

We have black ice to contend with. Plowed only cleans the snow off the ice. I park mine when the black ice arrives and ride it when its gone in the spring. Oct-Mar is the usual pattern here. I don't like sharing the road with SUV's careening all over the place. On snow days, we see 10 to 15 upside down in the median on a particular stretch of Hwy. Some of the accidents do not turn out well.

There have been some winter riders. Search Seth-O from MN.

It's your ride and your choice on winter riding.

It means you're probably in the market for a small, used car, as was suggested.

Actually; you might be interested in the "Elio". It's a three-wheeled motorcycle with front-wheel drive, and an enclosed cockpit. It'll be built in Louisiana, and the current suggested retail price is just $6800.
