• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My spyder overheated today! 6 + bars and into limp mode. This afternoon was the first day above 70 here in the boston area. This am was fine to work, 51 degreese, 3-4 bars. just a couple of miles from the house, after 18 miles most highway, it hit limp mode. Checked fluids, they are good and filled. Turned it on and noticed the fan was not turning at 6+ bars! Got it home, courtisy call to the dealer (call service in the am). Let it run in the driveway for about 5 min, watched it climb up, and never once did the fan kick in. :yikes: I checked :spyder: and looked :spyder: and didnt see anything out of wack, disconnected or otherwise. Soooo, a call to the service department in the am. Has anybody else had this happen? My dealer will take care of it with no problems, Im just wondering if this has been seen before.

thanks!!:bowdown:

Check the easy stuff first. There are both a fan fuse and a fan relay in the front fuse block. If the fuse is good, swap the relay with one of the others.

Then go to the dealer if those two checks fail.

Thanks Atadude!!!!!:ohyea::2thumbs::bowdown::bowdown:
freeking relay was stuck. swapped it out with the lights, lights failed to come on, tapped it and up they came. Ran it up to 6 bars and the fan kicked right on! So Ill call parts and swap out the relay(s)!!!

Thank you!!!! Now I can take the spyder to work tomorrow!!!!!!! :yes::ohyea:

Good... glad it worked. The OEM relays appear to be a little dysfunctional at times. The thread right above references another thread with the relay part number... you can get 'em at AutoZone or the like. I, and many others, keep a spare or two in the trunk.

Do you know if the Borg Wagner relay that is cross-referenced with the Duralast will work also?

Yup - if it matches the cross reference it will work - it's a pretty common relay. I went to Advance Auto and they CR' the duralast to another brand and it works just dandy.
