• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Throttle Stuck

Well, I have another thing for the tech to check out on my spyder. Once today in traffic I had applied throttle, then quickly released it, but it continued as if I still had it open. I pushed up on the throttle to make sure it had released; it was where it should be, but the gas was still open. Fortunately, my brakes work well.

Like a dummy, I didn't think about the kill switch (other recent thread), so I turned the key off. After a couple of minutes I restarted it and all seemed fine. One other point, I thought I smelled fuel fumes just before this happened.

It seems that something similar happened to one of the members on here, so I was hoping they could clue me in on a possible cause and remedy.

Glad you survived intact! I don't want to lecture, but everyone should learn to use the kill switch to turn off any motorcyle, each and every single time! It will then become second nature, and could save your butt in situations like this. They don't happen very often, but they do happen. Let us know what the service tech finds out.

:agree: i've gotten to were i use my kill switch everytime i am going to turn it off. ill usually hit the kill switch and roll into the parking spot even unless i'm backing in.

Glad you came out ok.

This throttle thing happened to my wife's spyder on Saturday. We got an E in the gear indicator spot.

Spyder is in the shop now to find the problem.
