    Default Excited

I just turned 61 and bought myself a Spyder. I just got my permit and am learning to drive it. First I started out at my sons on his circle drive. Now tonite I took it down his dirst road and back twice. I even shifted all the way to 3rd and back and did 30 miles an hour. Hubby says get rid of the butterflies but I feel they are the size of tardactyles (flying dinasaurs) Wish me luck

Hey, SWMBO just solo'd today. Took our RT to work (about 90 miles round trip). Tired tonight but smiling ear-to-ear. We are close to same age bracket. Like salesman told her, just use the spyder for your errands. Don't get lost in the process, just focus on end result.

Congrats to both of you!!! I'm 58 and had the same fears. Get about 2 hours under your belt, trying different controlled conditions so you understand how the bike and you relate. You'll get there!!!

I have had bikes all my life so no real issues but I really think it is great that some people are getting out there for the first time. It is never to late to get started. Welcome to the addiction, lol.

Great stuff!! Happy Birthday and congratulations!!

I recommend in the beginning stages you take a good look at the exercises in your Spyder's owners manual. It describes practices for turning, parking, etc... all great to get you more used to handling your new awesome machine!

Enjoy and ryde safe and feel free to keep us all updated on your progress, fun and adventures!

Cheers and all the best from Newfoundland!

Check and see if your state provides a 3 wheel safety course. PA just started it this year. The best part about it is you learn about the machine and how to ride it safely. Then after the class you get your license.

I had a lot of fun taking the course as well.

    Good Luck and Have Fun

    Cool You go girl!

My 70th birthday was yesterday and I just got my new Spyder. So easy to ride but so much fun. Why did I wait so long. No longer have to depend on a ride with a Harley guy! Eat your heart out, boys! I've got my own ride!

and Happy Birthday!!! I was 60 when I got my first bike (2 wheeler) and 66 when I got my first Spyder. My friends told me I was crazy () and too old and a cripple. So what's the issue? you're never too old to enjoy life. At SpyderFest I kept running into people my age and much older saying "Hey, the clock's ticking, Enjoy, enjoy enjoy". That's my mantra today. You're going to love your new life!

good deal just rember to relax and let the take you for a ride too much in put will make you think its too twichey, but thats you holding too tight on the bars.and keep your foot away from the brake inless your stoping it will put you in limp mode faster then any thing.so ralax and ride like the wind.have fun.
