New Spyder owner in SC
Well i picked my Spyder up on Friday (pouring down rain) Rode 350 miles between Sat/Sun. So far I really like the bike but it is totally different riding than i'm use to. I have rode bikes all of my life and roadraced crotch rockets in Formula USA and WMRRA, but this Spyder has proven that I need to throw everything I know about riding out the window.
So far I have maxed out the spring compression on the front and bumped up the tire pressures to 20 psi which has made it somewhat easier to ride but the bike still feels like it's darting all over the road. I think i just need alot of seat time.

As to the darting, keep a very light grip on the bars. The Spyder responds to the slightest steering input. Someone said hold them like you would a little bird, and that's pretty accurate. You have the hang of it soon. All of us that have ridden, and especially those of us that raced, have had to learn all over again.

and enjoy. Remember, it is not a bike, it is a Spyder. Like Scotty said, a light touch on the handle bars is the key. Give it a few hundred miles and you will be in love.

That sounds like a good trip. The weather is supposed to be bad tomorrow, but clear up after that. I will likely stay closer to home this weekend. I hope you have a safe ryde.

Forgot to post - also just found out I have the time off so I can go to Maggie Valley for the owners fest!!!! Can't wait!!! My husband's going to worry about me the whole time (don't know if it's me or the Spyder he'll worry about more!!! (probably me - can't get replacement parts!!!)) Hope you'll be going also.

I already made our reservations at the Ramada Limited in Maggie Valley for the owner's event. There will be a great group of Spyders there and I am really looking forward to it.
