Check to make sure your battery is fully charged and your connection are tight.

So much for enjoying my first 75 miles before the rain comes in for the next 7 days. Thanks
Wonder what's going on with the RT Limited production? My Spyder had the ACS position sensor link disconnected causing the rear suspension to fully inflate. Also had the steering angle sensor plug not fully inserted. Now it is in the shop today trying to figure out why in the last two days I am getting "Check DPS" warnings. I suspect a poor battery connection.
Hopefully your fix will be quick so you'll be back on the road soon.

Sorry to hear about your problems. Sounds like set-up glitches--once solved--hopefully you will enjoy your new 's.

Thanks...I'm checking in for the hubby as he is on his way back the shop (via truck) with the bike. I'll let him know of the comments/suggestions.
Hopefully, it is nothing major and we can get out on the road soon.

I have a newbie question for you veteran folks. It seems to me reading these threads that MOST of the issues with the spyders are coming either as soon as they leave the lot of shortly thereafter.
So, my questions is, who is responsible for the crappy prep? the dealer or can-am?
How much assembly is required by the dealer?
Thanks
john

In my case the problems were with BRP assembly. However, mine is back in the shop with "Check DPS" warnings. Haven't heard from the service department yet. The last conversation I had with them I was told they were waiting for input from BRP. Hopefully I will get it fixed before Spyderfest.

The PDI on the RTS and more so the RTS Limited ( I think the dealer installs the GPS ) is huge the thing comes in pieces ! Also they stopped doing test drives so a lot of stuff that would normaly get caught on a test drive is being missed ! I'm reading more and more post with regards to the battery not fully charged or lose connections .

They have sent out a memo but you can't make them do what they are asked to do.

Ah, ok. I thought someone had said they are not required to test drive them anymore. Seems like a no brainer to me. Unless, they don;t want to get stuck down the road...

I just found this is a note from the middle of last year
"BRP - we actually pay dealers to do a 30-minute test ride before delivery."

At least if he does get caught in the rain, the Spyder is the easiest to drive and safest ride in rain conditions that I have ever experienced.. but its more fun to ride dry so we will wish the for him...

What connections, battery?

The RT test ride requirement expired last Fall. It is impractical in the northern climates in the winter. It has not been reinstated. Loose (or improperly prepped batteries are the dealer's responsibility.

Interesting...when I got my bike now a couple of years ago, I had to test drive it for a while before signing for it...this was a pretty good idea, I guess...they actually had me ride it in a gravel parking lot to get a feel for the traction control...neat way to learn...bike handled great, obviously...hope it always does...

dps limp home
I received my rts spyder, made it seven miles untill the dps limp home light came on. I took it back to the dealer they said they entered the wrong codes into the program. I hauled it home 139 miles one way, rode it nine miles the next chance i got and the same light came on. The dealer picked it up and took a new computer off of a bike still in the crate to get me back on the road quickly.
I havn't had any trouble since, took it back for my 600 mile check up and the dealer told me they now are supposed to drive them 11 miles before the new owner picks it up.
The dealer is Teds Motorecycle World in Alton Ill. I couldn't be happier with them.
