    Default RT Shocks

I installed a pair of RT shocks on my 08 RS. I already had a EVO sway bar installed. With the new shocks I could not believe the improvement in the ride and handling of the spyder,I would recommend the RT shocks.

Just got a set of RT shocks for my 09 SM5...$202.00...along with a sway bar...and corbin seats/backrest, Bad Boy Air Horn, super magnetic oil plugs, upgraded relay kit, oil filter kits, Ride-On, Tourmaster riding suit for winter, Half-cover, hand grips, feet & hand warmers...and ordered 2 calendars...Needless to say...my mad money for Spydie took a serious hit in the past couple weeks....Now just gotta put all the stuff on her.

Where do you set your RT shocks? I have always set the stock shocks at the firmest setting. Did you get the 2010 model RT shocks or the 2011? Do you ride two up? I know a lot of questions but I'm in the process of changing mine out also. Would appreciate your opinion.

I have the 2010 RT shocks set at the middle setting.I ride 2up most of the time but have not had a chance to ride 2up with the new RT shocks because of the weather.I am 6 foot and weigh in at 250 lbs. Shocks & sway bar is a great combo for the money.

    Default RT shocks

I just got back from a 100 mile ride this morning. First good ride with new DPS and RT shocks, what a difference. ELKA may be a better shock, but for the money the RTs are great. Set on next to firmest setting, rear shock on next to hightest setting. Two up around 450 lbs on bike no problems.

The RT shocks were just the ticket for me. I want the Penske's reeeeeally bad but I just can't afford 2 grand for shocks. SO I too went for the 2010 RT shocks. I set mine to max preload and with the EVO swaybar the improvement in handling is incredible.

Many thanks Lamont for the input on this. It was the right call for sure!

My dealer installed the RT shocks for $300.00 for me...not a bad price..they make a big difference, but I might have to also get the sway bar, in time....

I'm still not a fan of the DPS change as the bike is too loose to me at high speeds...as far as the shocks helping on the twisties, no question the RT shocks are vastly superior...

When you all say I got the RT shocks, what are you changing the whole shock assemble or what parts?

The whole thing! Have your dealer do it for 300.00 (including labor)..it's worth it, IMHO...

No need for dealer to do it I can, Spyder is pulled apart for the winter for stuff good time to switch them out. Is there a part number for the whole assemble or different number to make up the set.

I have a set on the way. I have a good heavy duty spring compressor, so I'll tackle it soon!

Default 2011 RT front shocks availiability ?

When are the 2011 shocks going to be available and what is a fair price to sell the stock 2010 RT shocks ? Currently 5965 miles on stock shocks.

The 2011 RS parts are listed on the parts fiche as of last week (mid November), but the RT parts are not listed yet.
