Yeah--compared to "farkle items" oil is fairly inexpensive & it rarely breaks .

While it's a great idea to keep all the info on a given topic in the one thread wherever possible so that it's easy to find et al, it still always pays to check the date a thread started and check the dates on the latest posts in any thread before you post a reply - the info given &/or linked in the earlier posts quoted in both the replies that I've shown above may still be valid, but since those earlier posts/links were put up waaayyy back in September 2018, there's a pretty good chance that things might have changed juuust a little in the years that've passed since.

For your F-3, I would use Rotella T-6, 5w-40 it's JASO II rated .... so it's good for a WET clutch like we have ..... jmho ... and Walmart sells it at a good price. and google it and see what re-bates are now available ..... Mike

Asked and answered multiple times. My advice after 60+ years of operating motor vehicles with out a single oil related failure is buy whatever you like as long as it meets or exceeds the recommended oil by your owner's manual. Manuals for almost all motors can be found online somewhere.Ride more worry less.

Engine oil
I use Valvoline 4T Stroke Full Synthetic Motorcycle Oil 10W-40.
It is formulated for specific needs motorcycles, including High Temp, High RPMS, + Wet Clutch Systems( which our spyders have). I have been using this oil since 2014.

As I said back in post #40 put up back in November last year, you should always check the date a thread started as well as looking at the latest few posts in it too - and it's a pretty good idea to read right thru the thread before replying as well, Kelley!
This is especially the case in this thread that's now nearly 8 years old, cos I reckon the post from DrewNJ that first referred to the $55 kit (see above) was put up waaay back in March 2014 and there's been a few posters who have provided more recent price info & updates since, & some have even suggested where to get that oil at a better price too!
Besides, the thread topic is really "What Brand Engine Oil do you use?", & not really 'How much does it cost you for oil?' or even 'Where do you get your oil?' - Just Sayin'
