Ryker dies when riding
Hi Our Rally 900 all of a sudden dies on us. Happens at random times but is running well then it is almost like it doesn't have fuel getting to the motor.
Normally wont start right away but if we try enough times it fires up and works again for awhile. Battery is good and always turns over even if it won't start
Anyone else experience this type of issue?

No experience with the Ryker, did you check that the battery cables are tight?

Definitely & ez enough double check battery connections. Fuel filters too if possible, least try some fuel additive injection cleaner might just be bad gas with season change the pumps have different blends

Does it show a code?
Are you accidentally holding the brake down while riding it?

Cables are tight and battery is good

No codes showing and made sure the brake wasn’t being touched. It seems to run for hours at a time then quits

Headed for dealer as soon as we can get it in. Thinking fuel issues or fuel pump starting to fail

Sounds like a likely issue. Or some kind of internal leak inside the fuel tank not allowing enough pressure to build. Let us know what you discover. Could even be a computer issue.

If it was a snowmobile, i would tell you your stator may be bad!! Sounds like fuel!!

Quick update. Dealer is thinking fuel pump issues after it has ran for some time and the pump heats up. They noted idle change in RPM and sounds of the fuel pump cutting in and out and finally Ryker dying. They are still looking into it and hopefully BEST will cover costs.
Will let you know more when I hear from them after diagnose is completed.

Finally got the Ryker back after along time at dealer. Fuel pump was finally changed out. Have managed to get it out on a couple of longer rides and no more issues.
Of course dealer is hedging their responsibility but has applied for warranty. Will update if I get warranty or am out of pocket.

That was a long time, glad you got it back running well. Thanks for the update.

My fuel pump went out and the symptom was that the bike began to hesitate at higher speeds as the fuel pump could not keep up with the fuel demands of the engine.
