Finally got my PPA wheels on. Like the look much more than the oem wheels and are much easier to clean.20200822_175002.jpg

Removed rear wheel and took it down to have a Hankook Kinergy eco 2 215x60x15 fitted. Whole process was easier than I first thought. An extra set of hands definitely helped out too.IMG20200825085416.jpg
Re-routed the dealer-installed Battery Tender cable from the compartment where the radiator reservoir sits, to near the left shock. Now, instead of having to open the frunk and removing the panel above the reservoir each time I want to hook up the tender, I can just kneel down by the left wheel and connect to the lead. Made sure to use tie-wraps as strain reliefs and to protect the cable from chafing as it routed through the "wall" behind the battery. If you have a battery tender you know that the cable has a protective cap when it's not in use, so that takes the weather/washing question into account. IMG_0438.jpg

Built some hwy foot rests for long distance ryding. $7 in steel ( 1/4" thick x1 1/4" wide). Just couldn't see paying $150+ for just the mounts. Why didn't I do this years ago?????hwy foot rests.jpgInstalled Hwy footrests.jpg
I would sometimes rest my feet on the splash deflector ( feeling guilty every second) BUT no more.

Today I washed it for the first time since May.
Then I added KNOTT grill covers (with filter material behind them)
LED brake/run lights from Spyder Pops
Powerlet Power socket to feed my heated liner as well as for a battery maintainer
Last was the pad switch for my Mo-Door garage door opener. The control unit is in the right speaker well.

Isn't it weird that in AMERICA our flag and our culture offend so many people...... but our benefits don't?
I put 135 miles on it and it was super smoky because of all the fires here in California
if any more burns, we will not have to worry about fires for years because there will not
be anything left to burn
Picked up gas to top off the tank for the winter storage and received a K&N air filter to put in. This will complete my maintance work which was new spark plugs, oil and filter change, transmission filter replaced, gas filter changed, and sea foam added to the gas tank, battery tender hooked up.
How many miles on your Spyder when you changed the plugs mine is still going strong with 54000miles on original plugs
What did I do to my spyder today?? Tried to get it back from the shop!! Darn water pump went and they needed a pump shaft and had to order it!!! The darn virus has everything screwed up and I am still waiting for parts!!
Hi RICZ. Can you provide more details on installing this unit?
Remove the trunk light by pulling out the two push pins. Determine which two wires supply the brake light and simply splice the flasher unit into the brake light circuit.

My turn, my turn!!!
Had Federal Formoza tires put on the front today, although I have but 4K miles on the bike. All the positive comments about switching to car tires, prompted me to do it. And I am so glad I did. First thing I noticed was far less rolling resistance. Then, on a straight stretch, I set the cruise and took my hands off the bars for the first time without drama. There were but a few curves and corners on the way home, but it's obvious these Formoza tires bite the road a lot better than the Kendas. They required only 3/4 of an ounce to balance. Nice! I'm starting out with 18.5 psi, figurung I can always let some air out easier than put some in. Oh, and I had them put in valve stems that were a bit longer so I can check the tires and air them up without having to use an extension.
In case you are wondering why the Federals, I like to trade locally and my go to shop could only score those tires in the appropriate size.
Thanks to all, who before this, posted the good results of switching to car tires - at least up front.

You'll love your new knee. Had my right one done 8 yrs ago. I get on from the right side (as you're sitting) as I have trouble sometimes bending knee getting on the other side. Good luck and enjoy both (knee & ride)
As a matter of fact---- YES. I live in the mountains and road signs like " curvy roads next 20 miles" are common. This one is just longer and we are ready for it. Not in a hurry---- only going from Red Bluff to Leiota that day, Just so I don't get stuck behind a lumber truck or motorhome. " Brakes are good-- Tires fair" Actually both are excellent.
Thanks for the warning though,
