Why would you want to use a key every time you want to get into the frunk?

That's very true, with that flush lock you would have to use a key every time you opened and closed it.

you have to use a key every time you want in the frunk of the spyder. so whats the difference.
Also on the ryker you have the areas on the side where I can just pull up on the frunk cover. no need to add a spring etc....

I like the option of being able to lock it or not lock it. With that flush mount lock, you will need to lock it every time or else it will be flapping up and down when going over bumps.

Amazon lock is exactly what I was looking for. I used the video from slingmods and guesstimated. Works perfectly!

Same here. I made it 1.5 inches from the edge per someones suggestion here, then mounted the angle bracket on the inverse angled section inside the trunk with the edge of it just touching the transition line between the angled and the vertical wall of the trunk. (if that makes sense) O.o

Difference is it's a Ryker not a Spyder and has no lock at all. Why not do the best thing so you have an option to lock or not lock.

Found this while I was searching for some other installation instructions:

Wonder what locks and unlocks it...

Looks like it unlocks whenever the USB is getting power since it plugs into the harness right there. I'd rather have something like that instead of having yet another key.

is this part available to be purchased from some where? never mind I found it
