I'm running the Evo's out front and am very satisfied with them. They wear well and handle just fine. They can be a little skittish if over inflated and cold. I've found they run best if inflated between 18-20 psi cold.
Aren't the Formozas 14's rather then the stock 15's???
Was all considering them

No, I have them in 15" and I like them much better than the Evo. Like the Evo, the Formoza is available in the OEM tire size for 15" rims

Just got my new federal's a couple days ago. I can't believe how great they are. I never realized how important the load carrying capability would be. Here they are in action.

I had them mounted on some F3 rims and put on my 2014 RT. I absolutely love them. They are so smooth that my bike feels better than new. I think part of the reason is because my stock tires may have been way out of balance from the factory. The wet weather handling is great and it appears that they might last a good while. I only have about 3k miles on them, but they look like new. I went with the stock size, and I had to loosen the front fender to install them, so I am glad I didn't go up a size. Ordered them online, and had them mounted at a local tire place for $20 mount and balance each. Probably going to look for that same tire in a 14 for my 2012 RSS when the time comes.
They were delivered this morning, sure look to wide to fit within the 2014 RTL fenders. I'll mount them Friday to see how they fit.

I advise ...get the Formoza's ...... not the Evo's ..... the Evo's are favored by the " Drifter " crowd , because they SLIDE really well ............... Mike
i ordered these had them mounted and balanced and got them home will not fit not even close.
lost half a day at the cost of mounting balancing and the cost of putting old ones back on the rims.
Kenn
Ann,
tried finding the Formosa model, and ran out of patience...
Do you have a link to a site where I can learn a bit about them?
Or beter yet: a place to buy them?

You ordered the wrong size, they should have been the P165/55R-15 which will fit your Spyder.
I am running the Continental Contiprocontact Size 165/60 R15. My Spyder handles excellent in the rain. I don't hear any noise. Running @ 19 psi.
I replaced the front tires last year@ 12,807 miles, I know have 16,000 miles on the spyder. I have 3,193 miles on the Continental Contiprocontact tires. Deanna
Deanna, how tight of a fit width wise are those tires? Looking at the specs they look to be the same width as the Altimax RT43 that Mike is using and he said the RT43s are a real tight fit and he wouldn't recommend them because of that.

Interesting how trends work. I bought a pair of Kumho Solus KH16s back when everyone thought they were the cat's pajamas. Now, everyone's favoring Federals.
I'm not complaining. Replacing the Kendas with almost anything else will dramatically improve your ride. I'm more than satisfied with my choice. In my case, it made a bigger difference than replacing the stock sway bar.
You will love your EVOs!!! Drifter crowd? Really Mike? What are you smokin'? Is that stuff legal in Vermont? The EVO tires have excellent grip! I have pushed my spyder through the twisties with my EVOs and it will lift the inside front tire long before it will ever slide. Rock solid!! Even in the wet. I cant give an opinion on any other tires except the Kendas which are crap.
... I'm very Happy for Joel ..... you should get at least 75 to 90,000 miles from them ............ Mike
I was thinking the WalMart price wasn't cheaper than what I got them for on eBay but then I clicked on the link again and they went up $8.- apiece since I ordered mine.
I opted for the Continental ContiProContact in 175/55R15 for our 2014 RTS. They went back on our Spyder fine but I have not had it out yet because waiting for the weather to improve a little more.
Is that what it's all about for you Joel ..... Way back when you first arrived I commented to you because I thought you were selling stuff!!!!....and I knew Lamont was going to catch it and Spank you .... so it was a FRIENDLY - HEADS UP .............. when I found out you weren't ..... I am about to order new front tires for my rt and want to be sure this tire and size will fit.Federal Formoza AZ01 All Season Tire - 175/65R15 84H any help would be appreciated
