SPECTACUALR SPIDERMAN question
SS,
A few months back I believe you posted a comment about AAA raising their rates (on the sly). Long story short, I got my renewal yesterday for AAAPREMIER , and RV (motorcycle) coverage is no longer standard for the yearly rate of $119. It's now an extra $35. But, to make matters worse, you get this nice brochure that says they are saving you money. I called AAA to see how they were saving me money, by charging me more; of course it was nothing but double talk after that.
I'm just wondering if you switched from AAA, and who you switched to. I don't think I can afford any more of AAA's savings. The only thing I use AAA for was for the spyder.

I agree that AAA is way too expensive. I dropped them years ago because I've got about four or five different ways to get the same service from other means already at my disposal. In Tx, we have a TxDOT phone number on our driver's license that will provide roadside assistance. Plus there's my vehicle insurance, dealer service, friends/relatives, etc. They all provide the same service as AAA.

don't remember posting that but i do know aaa has different level plans & yes your insurance my cover it also for free as does mine. i
still keep aaa as an added security, i look at as insurance that i hope i never need. aaa also will reimburse if you get towed & to pay
out of pocket, i have used that

Instead of AAA try Good Sam, I have heard really good reviews for them. My AAA coverage should be up this month and I do not plan to renew after the fiasco I had with them in June. I know SS said it is insurance he hopes he never uses, and I totally agree because if it comes to needing it you will find out just how bad it is.

I too dropped AAA a few years ago due to their rate increases. I was pleased with their service, but opted to just take advantage of the service that my insurance offers.

My insurance also offers towing but for a whopping 14 miles. That doesn't do much good, even if I was at home the 3 dealers in Las Vegas are more than 14 miles from me. AAA and Good Sam both will take you much farther and if you are travelling this is a real necessity.

Still have it...
But use it for the savings at theme parks, hotels/motels, parts stores, resturants, etc. Amazing how many place you can get discounts from with AAA. Get my international drivers license and drivers license renewal, maps and tour books. They do more than tow you. But if you have it only for spyder towing its not worth it. I have it for all vehicles for the whole family...

Good Sam
I switched to Good Sam a few months ago ,as our AAA coverage was about to expire. All cars and Spyder in the fam are covered for about half of what AAA was charging. Have not had to use it yet. Don't know what that will be like, but from what has been said here, it should be good.
it was fun while it lasted.
