Huge thanks to all who posted advice here! This was exactly the newbie info I was looking for.
Got my Spyder Sept. 27 and rode it 400km home!
I have already had to be "rescued" twice. (Needed a boost both times.) He's now in the shop getting thoroughly checked out and likely a new battery.
I will be taking the time this week to read all of the posts and replies to learn from all the wise ones here before I start asking questions.
