First I have to apologize for the audio. I plugged the Go Pro Audio adapter into the camera, but I forgot to plug my helmet mike into the audio adapter. So the audio you hear is being picked up directly from the camera mike, not my helmet mike. Subsequently there is a lot of wind noise blowing across the camera. It’s not too bad at low speeds, but gets a little hard to hear me at higher speeds.

Secondly, my camera battery died on me about a quarter of the way through the trip so I only recorded up to our first fuel stop at the former Two Rivers Casino. It closed down in 2018 to focus on creating a resort area.

We started out from Ritzville, WA heading east along Danekas Rd then north on Hills Road heading to Harrington, WA. Riding through Harrington we headed north on Highway 28 heading to Davenport WA. On the way we passed the National UFO Reporting Site, which is an old missile site. Not sure if they do any alien autopsies there, but we didn’t stop to find out.

Arriving in Davenport WA we headed east on US Highway 2 to State Highway 25 and headed north towards Kettle Falls, WA. Crossing over the Spokane River where it meets the Columbia River we arrived at the Two Rivers Resort. We pulled in to stretch our legs and refuel then hit the road again.

Up around Gifford WA we hooked up with the Gifford/Addy Rd, a nice twisty little stretch and followed that into Addy WA and from there proceeded to US Highway 395 to Chewelah WA. We were both in need of a pit stop so we decided to hit the Chewelah Casino. We were feeling a little hungry but when we discovered a simple hamburger was gonna set us back fifteen bucks we kind of lost our appetite.

Heading south on Hwy 395 we had a choice to make. Trees or Traffic. Stupidly I opted for traffic which brought us into Spokane WA. We had regained our appetite and since my riding companion to had to make a stop at his brothers place in Airway Heights WA, we thought to hit the Micky D’s there.

We parked, stored our gear, put on our masks and trooped up to the door, only to discover inside dining was closed. I suggested an Arby’s a little ways up the highway and when we got there, we’re confronted by the same situation. Not to be deterred, we headed to KFC. Surely the Colonel wouldn’t disappoint, but he did, drive though only. What the hell. So we headed further down the highway and I remembered there was a DQ that offered outside seating. Pulled in and surprise, surprise, we could finally have a meal sitting on chairs at a table like people could do back in the before days.

At this point it was getting close to 2:30 pm and I still had another 60 miles to cover getting home, so we parted ways. Over all it was a pretty fun day. Weather was perfect, clear, sunny, warm, hardly any wind, a riders dream day.
