We had a really nice day in Minnesota and the last day before we shelter in place at midnight.
I have had a few upgrades I planned this winter and thought I would do a few before I went out for a ride. I’m not sure if I can go out for just a ride during our quarantine, but I am assuming I can ride to the grocery store.

Here is what I got accomplished:

Tachform mount
I got this from Motorcycle Dave when there was snow on the ground.
I thought I was going to have to use more force to crack the bolt loose, but it came out pretty easily. I did use the impact driver first, but I don’t think I hit it hard enough to turn the bolt. The breaker bar worked great.

Here are the tools I used.
I was expecting blue Loctite, but this bolt is 3M yellow

I was hoping it would mount a little closer to the handlebar clamp.

I may replace the bolt with a shorter one and shorten the sleeve.

The gauges are still visible while seated.

It is a simple yet effective clamp.

I used the safety band on the first ride. I’m not sure I trust the clamp alone yet.

Tail Rack
This will hold my sleeping bag and pad.

It mounts on 2 brackets that mount to the subframe

Brake Rod
I moved pegs to position 5.

I don’t have pictures for this, there really isn’t much to show.
But I was expecting to need heat on the bolts to coax them out. Again, the breaker bar was more than adequate.
The new rod comes with all new bolts treated with Loctite.
I’m not sure if I like the new position. My feet are more “against” the peg instead of “on” the pegs but it is more comfortable. However, I DO like the brake pedal position. It is now next to my foot instead of above it.

Stay safe everyone.
Enjoy your day,
