New Wind Turbulence with installation of Side vent panels
Folks,
I recently installed side vent body panels on my 2011 RS. My old side body panels had the wind breakers where I now have the new side vent panels. Now at higway speed getting excess turbulence in the drivers seat. I have a Malstead wind shield which I can adjust up and down and pitch. Just wondering if anyone else has notice the change in turbulence when installing these new side panels.
Regards,
Bob Lambert

Were you having heat problems with your 2011 RS?

Yes - keep in mind I live in Phoenix and we ride in 100+ plus weather to work and back from work during the summer months. Baja Ron gave some suggestions which I implemented. On the thread Spyder having a heat stroke.

Remember that thread well. Baha Ron really knows his stuff on the GS/RS.
Changing out your 'Y' gaskets wasn't mentioned in the thread. If they have blown, they'll put out lots of heat.
Replace them with Honda PN 18392-MAM-000.
Wish I could help with your wind turbulence...

Anyone know if NEW CAN-AM SPYDER RS/ST LOWER WIND DEFLECTORS CLEAR 219400462 works with air flow side panel design for RS spyder - checked baker wind deflector and they wont work
-
I don't know about the ST wind deflectors. However I did just get the vented side panels put on my RS this week. I also have a MadStad windshield on my Spyder. I am planning a ride this weekend and will reply if I have the same turbulence or not.

So far no luck - waiting for aftermarket or CanAm to make a wind deflector fot 2014 Spyer RS. the 2014 and later models have the air scoop side panels

vented windshield
If your windshield doesn't have the vented cut out down at the bottom between the brackets you may experience turbulence.
I put a California scientific after market extra wide medium height on my STL that is quite a bit larger than the stock one it has the vent hole that is designed to relieve turbulence. I think you are correct that the side panels do take away from the nice aerodynamic's that the RS and ST have and I think I noticed a little more turbulence after mine were installed but I will take that over a smoking hot fuel tank any day
