    Default New iPod touch

Just thought I would throw this out there......I have a new IPod touch with the lightning to 30 pin adapter and I can't get the Spyder to see it. I have a 2010 RTS, anyone else run into this problem?

You have probably already checked this, but just to cover the bases...

    1. Use iPod cabl and not MP3 cable
    2. In audio menu switch to AUX/iPod mode

    Default New IPod touch

Already tried that, that is my usual set up. When I try to switch aux to iPod, it doesn't even show that there is an iPod connected

    Default New iPod touch

I have the iPhone 5 and some my old iPhone accessories will not recognize the lightning connection with the adapter that apple makes to convert it to the 30 pin adapter

I know the adapter works with my iPhone5. I would double check all of the connections and try again. Also do you have another adapter to try?

Yes, tried my new Nano iPod (7th Gen) and the Spyder does not recognize it as a iPod. Bought the adapter for the Lightening to 30 pin connector. Plugged my wifes iPhone 3S and it works great. Trying to get my son to swap his 2 year old iTouch for my new Nano as I would like to keep an iPod just for the Spyder trunk. Probably just the way goes.

I was thinking about getting a new Ipod nano as mine has pretty much bit the dust. But, if they don't work on the Spyder, I'll have to see if I can find a new "leftover" model

Looks like Apple may have made a mistake in this.
I was also thinking of upgrading my IPOD, but now I my go the ebay route.
Can you use your IPOD through the AUX connection if you just hook up the 3.5 mm jack??
BRP should have provided you with both cables.
I know you won't be able to control the IPOD, but I always put mine on shuffle and pretty much let it run itself anyway.
If it ain't broke, don't break it.

I have the same problem. I have a Nano version 6 and the radio quit seeing it during Freebird, which was terrible in itself. I went through a number of ideas and so far, nothing has worked. I can get it to play using the RCA adapter but cannot control the IPOD. I tried another cable and that didn't work, either. Needless to say, when I tried my NANO 7 with the adapter but that doesn't work either.

I am out of ideas but maybe someone will come up with some other thoughts. Next time I am at the dealer I'll get them to hook it up to BUDS - don't know if there is any hope there if the problem is with the display maybe it will find it.

I have a 2010 RTS and the new Ipod Touch. I have had it for a few months AND do not have a problem. I'm thinking that your adapter may not be working correctly. Dumb questions, but have you disconnnected and tried again? Are you using the supplied cable from BRP? Good luck!

    Default iPod touch

Yes I've tried unplugging and plugging it back in many times. I'm using the supplied adaptor from BRP. I got it to charge the iPod and it played through the speakers for about 30 sec then it wouldn't do it again. I could use the 3.5 plug and a car adapter to charge it and it would work that way, but I would like to be able to control it's functions like my older ipod does. (By the way I'm keeping that one around for that reason). So now I'm not sure if it's the lightning to 30 pin adaptor or it's just something that won't work with the new touch.

Wondering if there is an update to the software that would allow recognition of the newer apple products? This of course would happen when the dealer hooks up to the machine.

My 2010 RT had an issue with the cabling back to the top trunk; it also wouldn't recognize my IPod...
It took some new wires, but now it's as good as new!

I don't think it's the cable because my ipod classic works great with the system, it's just the touch it doesn't want to recognize. But at least it will charge it

You don't have any cases or anything like that on your ipod that might be getting in the way of a fully secured connection do you?

No nothing is in the way I got a lightning to 30 pin connector that has a 6 in wire between the lightning connector and the 30 pin connector.

That 6 in wire may have a broken wire that causes it to not work. Can you remove that wire? I have a straight connection from the Ipod to the BRP connector.

No I can't remove the wire, that's the way apple manufactured it
