Looks about an 8.5hr trip? Is that your first stop, then to cuba the next day?

The first leg looks like a good route. I'm guessing you have been to a SpyderFest before. This will be my first. I'll be heading up on Monday, trailering my Spyder. Will be camping at the Lady Bug campground arriving on Tuesday sometime.
See y'all there!

Us too! I took a vacation day today, just to tie up loose ends. Like putting my Spyder back together! Nothing like cutting it close!

I would ask, if joining us, please bring a couple (or three) of 3x5 (or similar size) cards with

We should be there. Don't wait on us though. We will have to fight ATL rush hour traffic, we have to drop the doggie at the vet for boarding so earliest we can leave Buford is 8am. We will catch up though. May take a diff route if traffic looks too rough that morn.

Well, maybe it's 9:30 CST???? Anyway, I'll be there!!!

Can't wait
Organized the bike this evening. Laundry is done so the packing will be easy. My passenger lives up in Kennesaw - thinking of taking a route through Jackson, Tn vs the group ride. Nothing personal just not sure about going south to go north. Yol Bolson, is there a negitive you know of to the route I am considering, that lead you to choose the route you plan? We are thinking of splitting the time at 6.5 hours per day.

Joan, Not sure. The route I selected was primarily to avoid Chattanooga, N'ville, St.L. I did have an alternative that is close to what I think you are looking. Just as you are looking at difference, it made no difference for us. Going thru ATL E-W or E-N sucks anyway I look at it. Opted to go via B'ham based on another GSR member's earlier suggested route and also committed to picking up Bumblebee67 on the way thru AL.
Might I suggest, meeting up in Sikeston Tuesday evening? I opted for long day Tuesday to allow more time at SpyderFest.
You might tag up with Hawk, (see above) he may be interested in alternate route.

The route via Nashville/St Louis will get you there entirely on Interstate highways and other than the cities its pretty easy traveling (we went that route from Chattanooga last year). The route via Birmingham/Sikeston will involve a lot of non interstate roads and is probably more scenic but a lot slower traveling overall.
Good Luck, See ya in Cuba!

Kieth, If you want to change your route then by all means feel free to do so. Don't think you have to go the B'ham route just for me. I'm a pretty big gal and can find the way up there by myself. I'm sure I won't be the only solo rider there. Just please let me know before tuesday morn.
