I like that it is closer to the actual event - not to mention the price.

I live 8 miles from the Candlewood. We will just hang with everyone
Friday night and ryde to the event Saturday morning.
There's a great pizza place just north of the hotel called Bills Pub.

Do they make a real good Chicago style pizza? That's one thing I have to have when we're there. I also plan on eating at a Portillos at least once.

The closest Portillos is in Crystal Lake about 30 minutes from the hotel
Brian likes the thin crust as well as Chicago Style, but I like the deep dish with lots of cheese. I am sure we will make the 30 minute drive to Portillos.

Gotta stop on the way and eat some Portillos for sure.... always do when there.......
And don't ask for any ketchup!
That weekend is also the "Taste of Chicago"... so it's gonna be BUSY.

Yeah, even though the "Taste of Chicago" sounds intriguing, and the BRP dinner is Friday night at Bubba Gump Shrimp on Navy Pier, I am thinking the traffic will be horrible. It is buy your own dinner, not provided, so we will probably just opt for the pizza closer to the hotel instead of heading into downtown. Have to check with Brian, but I am thinking he may prefer that as well.

I agree. My "taste of Chicago" will be whatever great Chicago restaurant we pick to eat at those days. I don't have much interest in going downtown for the BRP meals, especially if we have to pay for our own food. I'm perfectly happy to stay near the motel and Lehman mansion.

You could always leave later and team up with the Florida Express--- and get there before you even left
