Radio replacement? RT
I've got a 2014 RT LTD and the radio sucks. Period! Guess I'm old fashioned but I like my local stations. Has anyone fixed the reception problem with them? Or do I continue to listen to my iPod that keeps cutting out on every bump. I Kno that I can buy a dongle, just trying to keep it somewhat simple.
Thanks in advance.

Keep the Ipod and find why it cuts out as my Ipod works fine on my 14RT
I went to sat radio much better in sound .
As for the FM issues cant help you there.

There have been a few threads about BRP's excessive use of thread lock on the antennae and fouling the reception.

Some friends of ours just installed XM radio. Sounds simple, but it wasn't cheap!

Well you can buy a receiver with antennae and the connection wires for about $60.00 ..... I have pics in one of my albums ..... I don't think that is expensive ....... and they will send you a signal for $5.00 per month ..... Mike

I have the same RT as you .... get a 7mm deep socket and remove the antennae clean off as much or all of the thread locker, on the outside threads and inside if you can ..... re=assemble and use a STAR washer instead of the lock-tite .... After my antennae broke I re-placed it with a Bosche manual Auto antennae .... I get at least 12 stations in central Vt. ..... and the actual radio ( head unit ) is fine it's the speakers that are CRAP .... I swapped the Four oem's for JBL 2 ohm 5.25" models. My set-up rocks .... clear and clean and loud ( if I chose ) ..... Mike

Is that the BRP receiver or an after market one plugged into the aux input? The BRP one can be controlled by the handlebar controls, an after market one not.

It's after-market, so yes it won't connect to the BRP system .... This doesn't bother me because my XM receiver is in my glovebox ( see my album on this ) .... So if you are a Channel hopper you need to get the one from BRP .... I suspect it at least 5 X's ( likely more ) what I paid ..... Mike
