Spider-themed parts
I imagine I'm probably in the minority, but I don't like spider-themed parts for the Spyder. As most probably know, spyder is synonomous with roadster in Europe. I was curious where this trend started, so I took a look at the BRP site and I don't see a spider motif. So, who's responsible for popularizing the movement?

Don't know who is responsible but I believe it goes like this - It is YOUR spyder you can accessories as you see fit

Have you noticed the home page header of this site?

Some like the Spyder = spider theme, some don't. I am one that wouldn't do it on my Spyder but I sure don't begrudge anyone that does and I've seen quite a few nice spider themed Spyders (along with some nice Spiderman ones too).

i agree

The bug thing isn't my thing either. It's kind of disappointing to not see other options on mods -- flowers, lightning bolts, birds, anything else, really. I think it's just not popular enough to justify anything but the 'obvious' yet.

Mine is a Spyder Not a Spider

Mine isn't a bug, it looks more like a lobster!!! Yum, yum.

You're absolutely correct. Our Spyders haven't been in production long enough to engender a plethora of after-market accessories. Whether or not such happens depends upon folks asking for them, or looking through catalogs, such as J.C. Whitney, to find items to adapt.

Maybe a Scorpion. Sounds better than a CanAm Lobster

Here is a logo for your CanAm Roaster:

Not knowing that the Spyder moniker was related to Roadster (gotta be careful when clever Shunkmanitu's online...), I too thought that Scorpion would be more appropriate than Spyder.
That said, I have liked some of the spider-themed gear. The only concession I've made to the arachnid group is a reflective spider on the back of my helmet. I doubt I'd buy any spider gear for the Spyder, but that's just because it doesn't fit well with my Army Spyder. So, if anyone wants to produce a reflective Army logo, I'll swear off spiders entirely...

I am a bit scared of spiders but not of my Spyder so no Spider accessories for me.
When the day comes I feel like going in the garage and squishing my motorcycle I'll go back to riding my BMW.
But I have wondered why no one has done a red and blue bike like Spiderman.

Got to remember,

Maybe if you considered that Crabs and Lobsters are sea-going Spiders people might look more kindly on them. Vested interest here in the fact that I have attended SunDance of the Oyate Iktome Luta (Red Spider Family) I always feel thankful for them when I see desicated hornets and wasps under the spider webs on our West porch.
Having been bitten by a Coral Snake and a Rabid Dog and knowing of some of the spiders from other parts of the world I don't mind them around this area. Lots of worse things crawling around these Southern Pine Woods. Get a couple arms itching from walking in Chigger infested brush or have to treat a kid infected with hookworms from a playground sandbox.

It's a shame that Spyder Roadster didn't stick, just the Spyder part.
I'd much prefer a Roadster theme
Most of the time I tell people I'm taking my Roadster out, not a Spyder or motorcycle.

GIJoe, this thread is pretty funny coming from a guy who's avatar is a spider...LOL Sorry, just couldn't resist.

Yeah, I know... I set up the avatar before I actually had a Spyder. I've been meaning to make a new one, but haven't been inspired yet.

You do have to admire the effort and creativity of some owners in decorating their Spyders. Some awesome airbrushing.

There is truly some gorgeous airbrush and vinyl stick-on artistry for our Spyders. Unfortunately, none close to me, that I'm aware of...
